I voted for Obama and the only lousy change I got was
health care reform, stem cell research, ungagging of scientists, reduced nuclear weapons, an improving economy, greater rights of states to legalize marijuana, lowering of taxes (for most), a change in middle east relations, and more rights for gays...

Oh wait...

1. You're lucky
All I got was a government who takes terrorism seriously (rather than ignoring it until it is too late or using it to justify bad policies *cough* iraq *cough), hundreds of billions a year in tax hikes on the rich, an effort to end the Iraq war, a stimulus bill, credit card regulations and expanded community care and SCHIP.

George Bush spent about 40% of his first year in office on vacation.

3. Health *Insurance* Changes - Not Reform
Edited on Fri Apr-16-10 02:27 AM by MannyGoldstein
Protection of war criminals, endless imprisonment without recourse, $12+ trillion in tax dollars propping up banker bonuses (err, "shrewd businessmen"), warrantless wiretapping, enormous escalation of war, 25% interest rates on credit cards...

Fabulous stuff.

4. Damn......!
and the only change I got from my vote was the taking over of student loans from the sharks, gaining respect in the world again, the handling of inflation, (will be bringing) reform to the banking industry, and is reducing the deficit while putting an Hispanic woman on the high court!

:grr:

5. he really should run commercials like that come 2012. I always liked the Clinton ads
where he showcased all the geniuses and nobel winners who supported his candidacy in '92. Obama should state his successes clearly for the people to see in a 60 second ad come election time.

Was very glad to hear about the Gay hospital rights thing, tonight, by the way!

6. the sad thing is that he isn't probably going to be credited for any economic
improvements. I mean, the tax cuts in the paychecks.... it may not be much, but it is so much! A couple of extra bucks in your paycheck.... does a lot for the psyche. And the extension in unemployment benefits.... my rush limbaugh lovin bro in law won't say it, but it saved them. I hate to imagine how they would be right now were it not for that extension!! My sister found a job just as her benefits were running out. but dan will bitch because barbi is in another tax bracket thanks to how much she's making.

People take things for granted. I mean, imagine if there were no one to make sure our food was safe. Or our cars safe to drive!! We've had several issues in these past years I tend to think because of the deprioritizing of these things.

8. good points. it may not be much, but it is good on they psyche to have positive changes - he should
get credit for the small steps. I would HARP on them if I were him. You know McSame wouldn't have done jack crap for the little man and woman, and Palin would be on 24/7, oh wait, she is, but anyhow, he's not doing horrible - and that's a significant improvement from George Worst President Ever B*sh! I still cannot support him outright because of the warfare. I'm against people dying for NO reason, call me crazy. But, if the Iraq war ends in a few months & most of the troops are outta there, I will start to believe he will end Afghanistan asap if he gets a 2nd term. For now, he's up and down, but that's so much better than down and further down with B*sh!! The devil...
