It's on! House Budget Committee Schedules markup for 3:00 p.m. eastern, Monday
by: Chris Bowers

<snip>

The rumors are confirmed. The House Budget committee has officially scheduled a mark-up (debate, amendments and voting) on the reconciliation "fix" to the Senate health reform bill for 3:00 p.m., eastern, Monday:

MARKUP NOTICE: The Reconciliation Act of 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 12, 2010

Date: March 15, 2010
Time: 3:00pm

Location: 210 Cannon House Office Building

The contents of the bill will become known when the CBO releases its markup of the bill. That is expected either later today, or over the weekend. We already know it won't have a public option, or a capitulation to Stupak.

It has also been confirmed that the House will vote on the reconciliation bill, and President Obama will sign the Senate health reform bill into law, before the Senate takes up the reconciliation "fix." So, the House is taking a leap of faith.

The House is looking to pass the Senate health reform bill, and the reconciliation fix to that bill, by Saturday, March 20th. If they pass it, President Obama will sign the Senate health reform bill into law, and leave the country the next day. A few days after that, the Senate will take up the reconciliation bill, and look to finish this stage of the health reform legislative process by Latin Easter (Sunday, April 4th). From that point, expect financial reform to become the next big fight in the Senate.

This, of course, is all contingent on the House leadership finding the votes to pass the Senate health reform bill and the reconciliation fix. The odds appear to be steep, given the vote counts at Hotline on Call, FDL News Desk, and The Hill. But, that might all just be wiggle room and posturing, and things might start to turn around once the CBO score is released.

2. I don't think Pelosi would allow a vote if she didn't have enough to pass it
I think this is a good sign. She could have put it off for a bit still.

Buh-bye, Stupak.

4. they are scared shitless because too much truth is coming out ..fast..
James Roosevelt, who was chair of the Rules and Bylaws Committee that decided to dock Michigan and Florida half of their delegates and award 4 of the delegates Clinton won in Michigan to Obama, as well as all of the uncommitted delegates, is the CEO of a health insurance company – Tufts Healthcare. Okay? Got that? The guy who made sure that Obama had the necessary to delegates to win the nomination – even to the point of assigning delegates another candidate won to him arbitrarily – is the CEO of a health insurance firm.
And what Roosevelt wants in a health insurance reform, is a reform that relies entirely upon private insurers. He does not want a public option. He wants a plan like Massachusetts has: http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2009/04/09/healthcare_lets_build_on_what_we_know/

The DNC weighs in on Michigan
Posted: Wednesday, March 19, 2008 10:40 AM by Mark Murray
Filed Under: Democrats
From NBC's Mark Murray
DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee co-chairs Alexis Herman and James Roosevelt issued the following memo to members of the committee:

"We have recently been asked whether the legislation as proposed by Michigan would fit within the framework of the National Party’s Delegate Selection Rules. Our review of this legislation indicates that it would, in fact, fit within the framework of the Rules if, it were, passed by the state legislature and used by the Michigan State Democratic Party as the basis of drafting a formal Delegate Selection Plan. If a formal Delegate Selection Plan is received we will convene a meeting of the RBC to consider such a Plan."

13. 1. I am a former " elected" delegate for the State of Florida
Edited on Sat Mar-13-10 12:04 AM by flyarm
2.)I helped give a training class for prospective delegates in my state, in my county in 2008, until Rahm sent his pit bulls down from Washington and pushed everyone out.

3.)Andy Stephenson and I helped train a person who was involved in election reform with the Florida State legislature that changed our law and made the DRE's illegal for the State Of Florida ..the same legislation that the democrats used to strip our delegates. That said person won one of the highest awards the ACLU awards in the State Of Florida.

4.) I worked as a rapid responder for 4 years for the Former National DNC.

16. Interesting -- and the more we know about Rahm and DLC, the more sickening --!!
From what John Conyers has said -- "Obama only listens to Rahm" ...

Rahm may be Obama's "Cheney"?

Every day this becomes more sickening --

And the PRETENSES that so many here are willing to buy -- shocking!!

This is simple corporatism -- cut and dried -- pre-bribed and pre-owned!!

14. Boston Globe breaks big news on editorial page.
Big Shock, there! The CEO of an insurance company is not convinced a public option is a good idea. Who'd a thought it?

I'm so sick of the insurance industry.

7. We've got an awesome couple of weeks coming up. Reminds me of a great post on
a blog about what is going to happen to Republican heads when they realize HCR is going to pass when they've assumed it was dead after Brown won.

I'm trying to find it now.
