Ralph Reed to Establish an Iowa-based Christian Political Organization
At least he's not running running for Congress in Georgia. :eyes: But he still wants your $$.

Ralph Reed: Give me $500,000 and we’ll take back Iowa
By Jason Hancock 3/10/10 5:00 AM

Ralph Reed, the former head of the Christian Coalition and a veteran Republican strategist, told a Des Moines crowd Tuesday night that he was helping establish an Iowa-based Christian political organization, and if he could raise $500,000, Hawkeye State politics would be changed for the better.

With that money, Reed said his organization — the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition — can promise results like the nation saw in the gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. Senate campaign in Massachusetts. Reed said the national version of his organization was highly involved in those campaigns, each of which saw Republican victories on Election Night.

“We need to raise about a half a million dollars to execute that program,” he said. “The program that I just described to you that made history in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts, if you want to see it happen in Iowa we need to raise a half a million dollars.”

Reed, who was speaking at an Iowa Christian Alliance event, then instructed staff to pass buckets around for people to donate money, promising that any funds raised Tuesday night will be matched by his national organization.

2. Well, the christians have already announced they won't back Branstadt
and his main opponent in the Repub primary (and christian backed) Bob VanderPlaats has hinted at running as an independent should he lose to Branstadt.
Very likely that would really split the right wingers votes down the middle.
So c'mon Reed - back VP and wave that money under his greedy schnoz and LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE.

6. I'm guessing they also intend to attempt
to have gay marriage overturned.

I don't think it's a coincidence he chose Iowa.

10. This is why we have to stop having the primaries/caucuses in the same two states
each election cycle. He's essentially creating a gatekeeper group. Fuck you Ralph Reed.

11. Maybe Ralph Reed should find a real job
and do something productive for this country, instead of constantly trying another con-artist scam on the people.

12. Iowa-based?
Now why would a good ol' Georgia boy like Ralphie be interested in Iowa?

Couldn't have anything to do with their first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses, could it?

Crooked Ralph Reed Trying to Fund the New Theocracy

Spike,

"Ralph Reed, the former head of the Christian Coalition and a veteran Republican strategist, told a Des Moines crowd Tuesday night that he was helping establish an Iowa-based Christian political organization, and if he could raise $500,000, Hawkeye State politics would be changed for the better."

Just like a televangelist crying on television, send me your money and the Kingdom of Iowa will be heaven. Where is Rev. Ike now that we need him? Rev. Ike just wants the riches, not the power.

The last new Republican face elected Governor, or U. S. Senator, was Terry Branstad. That was in 1982. Nearly 30 years of theological political purity has produced Tom Harkin, Tom Vilsack, and Chet Culver. Locally, we get Senator Courtney and Supervisor Heland.

Every new Republican face for a generation vying for the brass ring state wide has been whacked by theocrats. Abortion, nude dancing in bars, gay marriage, etc. are not the primary concerns of Iowa voters. We wisely abhor a Ralph Reed, Steve Sheffler theocracy. Doing so comes at a price.
