A Strike On Iran
This would set off many things to include:

* The Straits of Hormuz being shutdown
* Retaliatory attacks on Saudi petroleum distribution by Iran
* Worldwide oil supply crisis
* At least $10 per gallon at the pumps
* Followed by inflation rates that will cripple the USA economy

I am sure all the war-chickenhawks have contemplated these possible scenarios in their zest for war with Iran...correct?

1. You would think....
Then again, well....you know where I'm going with this.

The concept of cause and effect seems to escape this bunch. :eyes:

2. Of course they contemplated it.
But the invasion will be such a cakewalk, that all these things will be over soon! ;)

3. They think they have
They have pursuaded the Saudis to increase production artifically lower prices and build up stockpiles in anticipation of a world wide oil supply crisis. The increase in gasoline prices would bring another windfall to the multinational oil companies. The Saudi petroleum facilities now have patriot batteries all around then. They have got the consequences of this war all figured out just like they figured out the consequences of invading Iraq.

4. I Think That maybe That's what They Want to Happen
The disparity between the rich and poor
was never as distinctly pronounced
as during the great depression

5. yeah they have a plan
but, they don't have 2 freakin' braincells to rub together so their plan is gonna be another total disaster. But don't worry they have bunkers and armed guards, and besides, they'll tell us it's somehow OUR FAULT it didn't work, because we question their obviously flawed plan.:eyes:

6. They really don't care
This is NOT the United States Government at work. It is Big Brother. Big Brother is establishing "Fort Apache" - the so-called "green zone" as a long-term hq for Halliburton/Blackwater et al. That palatial embassy is a corporate hq. the 14 bases are outposts strategically placed to have cavalry ready to fight off the indians if they try to mess with Halliburton's oil fields. They want to provoke just enough of a skirmish with Iran that they can justify another round of "shock and awe" to just knock Iran back a decade or two in its development. That will secure the beachhead for the occupying mercenary army when the US withdraws its uniformed troops. Basically we have been doing the dirty work for the CEO of Halliburton, who is taking a leave of absence but will be back on the job sometime in the next two years.

The whole "surge" to "clear baghdad" is a metaphor for the entire operation. The United States of America is working for Halliburton. have been from the outset. They and their cronies needed the oil fields; they worked with poppa bush to come up with a strategy to take them, hit a bit of a snag so it didn't go as fast as planned. The election was just a wake-up call to hurry up and get it done.

They don't give a rats ass for the US' image in the world, nor for junior's "legacy"...

Nor for democracy, nor Iraqi civilians. They are a modern-day Attilla the Hun, Ghengis Khan, Alexander the Great...

They are Ernst Stavros Blofeld. They are Goldfinger. They are every evil villian in every James Bond novel.

And they are WINNING!

They will buy just enough time to get themselves secure, then tell the US to go pound sand. We pull out our troops - fine! They'll sell oil to China and India, and we become a third world backwater.

All the posturing, all the resolutions, all the screaming and protesting means NOTHING> You heard Chenney: "They can't stop us." "I'm the Vice President and they're not"

He IS Blofeld.

8. I think you've covered most of it correctly..just this to add:
Not only is the Presidency in their control, they own the congress also. Both Democrats and Republicans, they all went along for the ride.Hillary,Kerry were in from the get-go.Therefore looking to established Democrat politicians to correct this is probably futile. They are invested in this mistake up to their eyebrows.

9. yep
some knowingly; many, I suspect, gullible fools like most of the public.

Orwell had it to a tee. People can be manipulated. Alternative "realities" can be created. The congresscritters are as susceptible as are the rest of us.

We live in a Miller Lite commercial (tastes great!)

What has come to be called "spin" is just an age-old propaganda technique to push people's buttons and manipulate their synapses so they believe wholeheartedly - vervently - in whatever nonsense you wish them to.

Jim Jones got a couple of hundred people to commit mass suicide drinking poisoned kool-aid, for cripes sakes.

The Muslim world has been battling for centuries over who is the proper successor to Muhammed, while Christians battle with them over who is the messiah and both battle with Jews over whether the messiah has come or is still in a holding pattern. Oh, and don't forget the battles between Muslims and Hindus in the big India/Pakistani divide. None of this is real. It is ALL mind-manipulation. And while some absurd portion of the world's population fight to the death over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, the Big Brothers march right along pursuing their own ends. We just happen to be living through a phase in history.

Much as the earth has endured drastic change through various named geological eras, wherein the climate has shifted, continents have drifted, differing lifeforms have dominated, so human history has gone through eras. An ancient "civilization" like China looks back at a succession of "dynasties". Europe and western asia have various "empires".

We in what is called the United States delude ourselves that what has been for some 230 years is permanent. It is not. Far from it. There are forces at work, just like those that move continents around, that override any visible aspects of "control" or "stability". If we do not wake up to that, we will go the way of the Roman empire, or the Ming dynasty, or the Incas, or the Anastazi.

And yet all it takes to set off what would seem to be a group of concerned and thoughtful individuals on a mind-numbing quarrel is a comment about Edward's house, or Hillary's singing. Or somebody's tie, or hair, or a booger on their nose.

We seem to actually fight for a place in line for a new flavor of kool-aid. Superficial isn't a strong enough word. Reality lurks generally unobserved while we lemmings just fly off the cliff.

7. Hey, WWII was great for business
The corporations run by the super elites made billions playing both sides of the conflict. Hitler's motorized and armored divisions ran on GM and ford motors. They were fueled by standard oil synfuels and had american rubber products. Their advanced communciations that made blitzkreig possible was ITT manufactured. An IBM subsidiary enhanced the efficiency of the holocaust. Union Bank and other American financial entities siphoned profits off the Reich through Switzerland during the war. The Fords, Duponts, Joe Kennedy, GM executives, Dulles brothers, etc., etc. backed the Nazis.

The bush family has been in the war business from WWI on.
