A Job Finding Question
Since there are a lot of bright people who post here I will ask my question here. I am trying to help my fiancee find a job or you could say we are conducting the search together. I am trying to be proactive and not fall into the "woe is me" or "woe is us" mentality. Even if we and others have every right to feel that way it isn't going to do us and them any good.

My fiancee has nearly two decades of experience in the public accounting, private accounting, real estate, and travel industries.

She responds to all the ads on careerbuilder, monster, and craigslist. As of late I am posting her resume on craigslist in over a dozen cities, mostly in the southeast and California.

I have also canvassed all my friends to see if they know of any jobs in her area.

I know and know of a lot of folks who are so discouraged they quit looking. I can't blame them. We just can't afford to quit looking.

Thank you.

Peace

DSB

1. Two serious points
1. It will be extremely difficult to get a job through posted advertisements.
2. Friends are not usually the best network.

Try cold calling or going to networking events for CPAs, etc.

2. One more point - don't post resumes on craigslist for risk of fraudulent activity

3. We Are Careful On Craigslist
I have successfully sold things on craigslist. Her resume has attracted some legit inquiries but many flakes too...

5. I Am Looking For Tips
If I was looking I might even go downtown with a sandwich board. It's a good way to get media attention. I don't know if it would get you a job.

Maybe the "sandwich board" is over the top but a sign might work.
