Why isn't Elizabeth Warren the Secretary of the Treasury?
This woman is brilliant and someone who exudes authority on economic issues. She is direct and worthy of trust.

I so want Geithner out of there.

1. I agree. She has presence, she can speak to people.
She can explain things to me- and that is saying something. Timmy should never have been there to begin with.

2. Because she might actually fix something, threatening entrenched interests
And then someone would have to put her in a small plane in the Midwest during a snow storm.

She's from the part of our Party that Rahm (and Obama) want to go away.

15. That's what I thought....
but your "$%J%^@%" started with an "R"....
so I wanted to make sure that there wasn't
something about her that I didn't know.

For the record, I think she's fabulous
even though my husband wants to run
away with her!

:)

4. Because she speaks clearly and concisely about terribly complicated issues...
and clear and concise doesn't go well with fuzzy and obscured.

7. Why don't we all send that question to the WH?
Edited on Thu Feb-25-10 08:03 AM by Skidmore
Seriously. Let's demand it.

Edited to indicate that I have just done this and included a strong statement to push for regulation of the financial industry.

Could it possibly be more clear?

9. That's a good question that I don't have an answer for..
I have a lot more faith in her ability to do what's right for the average American than I do for anyone the President has appointed to run the financial side of things. And yes, I do mean Mr. Geitner. I always enjoy hearing her interviewed and she gives me a sense she understands the problems and has an answer for possible solutions that don't involve payouts to the banks.

19. Why? Isn't the answer obvious by now?
The person who picks the Secretary of the Treasury is a a wholly owned corporate stooge.

20. She doesn't have a penis to keep her brain in.
Same reason Brooksley Born was marginalized and mocked - even though what she said would happen - happened. NONE will admit she was right and some of those "better at math" males who silenced her (and helped created this effing MESS - much to her warning and protestations) now have jobs in the Treasury.

THAT is why. That's also why this country continues to be in the financial toilet - or one reason, at least.

24. because Obama doesn't have a non-establishment bone in his body
or even, apparently, a clear idea of what that word even means. I wish he had a stronger ideology
(it might avoid all these endless delays) but it is what it is.
