LampocRecordIllegal immigration was at the center of a conference Thursday hosted by the Central Coast chapter of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.
Titled “The problems and risks of illegal immigration and what you can do about it,” the symposium featured two guest speakers on national security and immigration reform.
About 80 to 90 people attended the event at the Santa Maria Inn.
The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps is a volunteer group dedicated to stopping illegal border crossings into the United States. From Paso Robles to Santa Barbara, the Central Coast chapter has close to 200 active members.
Paula James, leader of the Central Coast group, said she was content with the turnout and there were new faces in the crowd interested in the information being presented.
The group is focusing its attention on supporting political candidates who believe in rule of law, upholding the Constitution, and protecting individual rights, she said.
