1. Tiger
Tiger does not pretend to be accomplished in public speaking. That is not his talent. This has to be terribly embarrassing and difficult for him to speak in public at all. I applaud his effort. After months of people castigating him for not speaking publicly, now that he has, he's castigated for his intonation. Give him a break. He's not back yet, obviously, emotionally. This is a first step only.

2. You can give him a break, if you like. To me, he didn't seem the least bit contrite.
His intonation was completely without emotion or sincerity.
But maybe that's just me.
