Savage Says Sarah Palin Is Unelectable: “She’s Like Dolly Parton”
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=2e5_1266098088

"In a mostly overlooked radio broadcast from late last week, mega-popular conservative host Michael Savage railed against conservatives supporting Sarah Palin for president in 2012. “I know more about it than the stupid Republican party does,” he explained. “If they run Palin, it’s over; Obama will be a term two-er,” said Savage. “She’s not electable as president. She’s not the righ More..t person — we need a business man.”

“Are you crazy? Are you out of your damn minds?” Savage asked at the suggestion that he keep quiet about Palin lest he alienate his base of listeners. “She reminds me of a country western singer,” he said, admitting her heart is in the right place, but reiterating that she is unqualified. “She’s like Dolly Parton in her early days,” Savage insisted. “Please don’t do this to us!” he begged. “Don’t Obama-cize these guys,” he continued, referring to both Palin and the recent upstart Scott Brown. “It’s too early.”

7. I agree.
I love and admire Dolly Parton. Palin would be lucky to be Ms. Parton for 5 seconds.

8. Agreed... Dolly Parton is a very accomplished songwriter...
and while much of it is not exactly taking up space on my iPod, I can appreciate the talent and intellect it takes to craft a song such as "Islands in the Stream", or "I Will Always Love You, covered by dozens of artists and having sold tens of millions of copies.

Palin couldn't compose a tune as complex as "Hot Cross Buns" without her peanut size brain imploding.

And yes, I DO SO HOPE THE GOP NOMINATES HER IN 2012. It'll give us a chance to break Ronald Ray-gun's electoral record of 1984, only with the good guys winning this time.

11. "Islands In The Stream" was written/produced by the Bee Gees
Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton were just the singers on that one.

Otherwise your post is spot on.

10. I'm sure McCain is kicking himself...
for bringing this idiot onto the national stage. McCain, IMHO, was never one of the extreme radicals on the right, and certainly he'd have been preferable to 8 years of Chimpy. I just think he got desperate to gain some traction against Obama and saw something shiney and new. Didn't really commit to the whole "due diligence" thing and wound up with a big steaming pile of stupid on the bottom of the ticket.

Now the lowest-common-denominator right-wing-morons think she's the 2nd coming, which is the best news the Democrats could hope for. If we can maintain majorities in the house & Senate this fall, and the GOP nominates Barbie Palin, we're looking at a serious landslide in 2012, and a return of the super-majority in the Senate. That should make the 2nd term more effective, as BHO will no longer have to worry about getting re-elected (well, that's what I'm hoping for).

Palin to ‘Lip Sync’ Future Speeches Says Aide

By E.T. Mandible
Nashville Journal-Advertiser
February 8, 2010

Exclusive to the Journal-Advertiser

NASHVILLE – In the wake of her speech last Saturday to the Tea Party convention held here, an aide to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told this reporter that her future speeches would be lip-synched. (Lip-synching is a technique where the speaker mouths the words live to a pre-recorded tape or CD.)

An aide to the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, who asked to remain anonymous, said that Gov. Palin was “deeply concerned” that she might make a “boo-boo” that could be exploited by what the aide described as the liberal national news media.

17. Dolly Parton is one of the most intelligent people in show business.
She is a decent, creative, generous and talented human being.

Palin is a manipluative halfwit asshole.

I see no parallels at all other than they are both female.

20. I actually listened to him for a few minutes because he was bashing her
He was just told about Palin's hand notes and his response was pretty funny. Then he started ranting about how HE was the one person responsible for bringing conservatism to the United States. I laughed so hard I almost had to pull over on the side of the road. That guy is nuts.

26. Dolly seems a lot smarter and kinder than Sarah Palin to me.
I'd sooner trust her with the country than Palin. She'd combine the down-home folksiness with some actual common sense and brains.

One might say that Palin puts up a false front, while everything about Dolly is real. (Write your own jokes here, guys...I know you will. But seriously.)

34. AND: Dolly wrote her own book.
She has a foundation that mails one book per month to pre-kindergarten children in the US, Canada and Britain. So far they have distributed over 2.5 million books. Free.

She has written almost 600 songs that are listed on BMI (they are professionally performed).
She once estimated she had written over 3 thousand songs.
She plays 9 instruments in addition to singing.

She has an honorary Doctorate from the University of Tennessee, the second ever granted by that university.

Step up, Sarah.......
