First of all, it wasn't a debate...

...It was a forum and I get tired of hearing the press mislabel these events. And for those who are used to seeing real debates, it's not even close to being the same thing.

Secondly, Gravel can serve a useful purpose in these primaries by continuing to fulfill the "Howard Beale" role he is establishing and calling all contenders, but most specifically Republicans, out on issues in a way the others aren't willing to do. He can soften up the competition and deflect fire from more viable Dems long before the general election.

Third, the fact that Dennis Kucinich has a much taller wife brings him more respect in my eyes. It would seem to indicate his ego isn't so fragile he needs a woman who appears physically subordinate to him.
