Tea Party America-what can be done? What will happen?

Will serious education reform reduce the amount of fear, xenophobia, bigotry, anti-intellectualism, etc. in the so-called "Real America"?

Will multiculturalism overtake them as simple demographics show that America will become increasingly urban and multicultural?

Or will there be an escalation of violence from right-wing militias that are the product of that environment?

Curious to know what people's thoughts are on this matter.

you can educate ignorant...but you can't fix stupid.

Nobody is stopping any so called "entertainment" that they use in place of information.

2. Escalation of violence

Serious education would be the answer however our educational system is under attack. The citizens of this country are getting dumber and dumber. We give trillions without a whimper to fight unjustified war but howl when it is suggested we fund our educational system. Our country is becoming more nationalistic, warlike and militaristic as time goes on. It's very sad.

3. I intend to fight the lies and hate speech.

Soon I'm planning to find out the advertisers on a local radio station that has Rush, Hannity, and a few others. Then I'm going to find things they've said on their shows at places such as Media Matters. The most distasteful, race baiting, calls for violence and such I will record and make the lists of quotes. Then I plan to send the material to the managers and owners of these businesses and ask them if they support this type of speech by advertising at the station. If they say no, I'm requesting they pull their advertising. If they do not respond or intend to keep advertising, I plan a campaign of awareness of the things said that the advertising is supporting to their customers. I've had enough of this shit.

8. Ever read economics blogs?

I love Naked Capitalism, Calculated Risk, ZeroHedge, DoctorHousingBubble, etc.

The comments section on those boards and on some news sites is sometimes littered with bigotry and anti-intellectualism. It is so disheartening. Mish's site is the worst filled with some of the most out and out racist ignoramuses imaginable. Of course Mish himself writes with a particularly bullying tone so perhaps it's honey to the lowest out there.

Anyway, you can't educate out of this. You can try to fight it by pointing it out, but I'm not sure what that accomplishes except to maybe point out how vile such commentary is and hopefully discourage others from following their example.

Society is eroding, civility slipping away. If the teapartiers had their way chaos would reign. They are dangerous.
