2. How awful! What kind of a person robs from a 5 year old kid?
Couldn't the guy find someone his own size to pick on? I'm glad he got caught. Hopefully the kid will get his chain back.

3. Two questions: What kind of guy robs a 5 year old kid? And,
What kind of 5 year old kid goes around wearing gold chains?

I don't know which is weirder.

7. Now 5 year olds shouldn't be wearing necklaces?

That's ridiculous. I see nothing wrong with a child like that wearing a necklace.

8. Apparently, it wasn't the typical "necklace" a 5-year-old would wear
The news article said it was a *gold chain*. Furthermore, the South Main area in LA is a high crime area (I know this from experience). I would never have let my kids wear anything but cheap costume jewelry when they were 5, and I certainly would not have let them wear anything that even resembled expensive jewelry in a high crime area.

5. But robbing 5-year-olds is so easy
I mean, I can overpower most of them (except the ones the cops have to taser), I can outrun quite a few of them, and if they have good stuff, why should they have it and I don't? I'm a lot older than 5, and I deserve all the best that life has to offer.

Feel free to adapt the above Republican Mad Lib argument to any situation that occurs.

9. I still object to calling 18-year olds "men"
They're just boys who just happen to be old enough to be legally responsible for a lot of things.

In this case, however, I'm willing to let him take his punishment like a man.

10. As a woman when I lived in LA, I never wore gold jewelry or even silver, just
cheap stuff for accessorizing. Getting robbed of your jewelry was very common and in any neighborhood. I didn't wear my wedding rings in public either. I even had a friend who was rear ended by the thief who robbed her of her jewelry when they stopped to exchange insurance info. Needless to say she didn't get her car fixed either. I hope other parents know not to put expensive jewelry on their children or their wives for that matter if they go out in public when they live in a big city like LA.

11. If only that 5 year old had been armed at the time.
What a shame.
