1. Before the firings, 43% of Sampson’s outgoing email was to the White House. Main recipients were Bill Kelley (13), Harriet Miers (10) and J. Scott Jennings (7). 57% of email was to DOJ personnel.
2. After the firings, most of the email (94.5%) was to DOJ personnel. The politicos who were involved in the pre-firing phase disappeared, and White House Associate Counsel Christopher Oprison was left to clean up the mess, receiving 8 of 11 post-firing emails, mostly related to preparation for hearing testimony.

Summary:
The bottom line is that evaluation of email traffic gives a pretty good picture of what was going on regarding Kyle Sampson’s "aggregation" in the US Attorney firing. Regarding the US Attorney firings, a significant portion of his outgoing email was to White House political players.
A reasonable conclusion from this analysis is that Kyle Sampson was receiving his marching orders from political operatives who decided why, how and who to fire. This has the striking appearance of political manipulation of the DOJ for partisan purposes. These records support the concept that Sampson was an "Aggregator" and Gonzales was minimally involved. Gonzales may have only held the pen for the firings. Congress should subpoena Jennings, Kelley, Miers, and Rove if they want to get to the bottom of this scandal.
