I certainly understand people's frustrations, but I can't afford to back down and I won't back down till it's all over.

I do my share of retreating into Yoga and spiritual practices but they won't solve my problem.

Yoga won't get me the medicines, doctor's visits, me and other people need.

Demonstrating for HCR is not my idea of a good time... but I just won't roll over. If we dig into the ditches, we will get something. Maybe not all we want but we wont get nothing either.

I've just got to do this. I hope you feel the same way.

I don't think I've seen a single one for HCR.

But I really don't watch much tv.

Do you have more info?

4. I'm not sure these rallies do much good.
I stopped participating in MoveOn activities during the primaries. And I was one of the earliest members. I joined back when they sent out the first emails to censure Clinton and move on.

7. Tea Party people think that their rallies are having a lot of impact
why not ours?

Under the Bush administration, we rallied and petitioned and had an activist center going on here.

Now we have Obama, and we've all seemed to have curled up into a fetal position. My health care needs and those of my family will not be solved in a fetal position. Either I go out and keep fighting or my husband will die. Or, we give up on this country and get Italian citizenship.

12. Their rallies get attention. Ours do not.
True, theirs are angry and crazy, but they are all over the news.

MoveOn had a rally in Rockford. They protested at Manzullo's office. I only knew about it because I knew some of the people who participated and it was mentioned at our central committee meeting.

Is anyone contacting the press about these meetings? There needs to be a coordinated effort on that front, too.

I am not giving up. I am going to change my focus. During the next year, I am going to find a way to work for candidates I believe in. I am sick of blue dogs and moderates. I am going to work to elect real Democrats and defeat false one. I will pick and choose instead of going along with the party apparatus.

11. we used to be able to get things going here during the Bush Administration
People used to post all kinds of petitions and have them get responded to.

We get one good spanking and then we sit down? The RW just got right back up on their horse and started to organize Tea Parties.

9. They Lost Me
I joined Moveon in the early days when they took a position against military action in Iraq.
They have experienced "mission creep." I never see them acting against military action any more.
If they no longer care about the wars we're in, then how can they be trusted to stay with the "mission" on health care.
If they get tired of that, they'll just get a new mission.

10. I got this e-mail too
Thought about it...yeah, say we manage to get some people together and "demonstrate", what will it achieve? I'm in northern MI where it's red, red, red. There have been gatherings of this sort already, one last summer and one not too long ago, it achieved nothing. No Dems who can do anything (ie Congressmen) will see or hear of it, it will achieve nothing.

I work on Tuesday anyway.

Julie
