In tough times people like candidates who appear to stand for something....
...that's why Obama won, because he appeared to stand for change.

That's why Scott Brown is winning....because it looked like he stood for SOMETHING (regardless of how odious his stances are). What did Coakley stand for? Bueller?

I would rather vote for a shithead I know is a shithead, than someone I think is a saint, only to find out they're a shithead.

The whole known quantity thingie.
