Talking Point Memo has a big old ad going right in the middle of its site for John McCain.

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/

I know--- I know... the money helps the site..BUT--- Why give a war mongering idiot like McCain advertising space on a blog that blast him pretty much daily.

I wonder if DU will do something like this?

3. Yes
DU has run ads for Republicans. Well, to be precise, ads for republicans have run on DU.

The sites don't control the individual ads that are served.

If McCain wants to waste money advertising on TPM, or DU, let him.

4. I disagree especially with the ad currently on TPM
That's a premium ad on that site, controlled by TPM.

If an ad like that ran on DUs front page, would you be OK with that?

8. I think that DU had some kind of google "package". . The ads that
run are determined by the words on the page. If we had a plethora of McCain discussion in one forum, we might see McCain ads on that page because of a host of corporate computer misinterpretations. . .

9. sure, I'd be OK with it
It would mean McCain (or whomever) was wasting his money for no return, and Skinner was making a dime off it. Why would't that make me happy?

11. If McCain wants to indirectly fund blogging likely to be critical of him
Let him. Why not take his money? I doubt McCain will get much return on his ad from TPM readers and he'd get even less from DU'ers if one of his ads ran here. I'd think we should take his money and use it against him.
