Bernie Madoff Moved to Hospital

Ponzi schemer Bernard Madoff has been moved to the medical wing of the federal prison in Butner, N.C.

Butner spokesperson Cathy Elsea said that Madoff was transferred to the Federal Medical Center on Friday, Dec. 18. The 71-year-old Madoff, who is serving 150 years on multiple fraud convictions for running a $65 billion scam, has been imprisoned at Butner since July.

Neither Elsea nor Madoff's lawyer, Ira Sorkin, would disclose why Madoff had been moved. "The potential reasons for an inmate to transfer are numerous," Elsea told ABC News, "and we do not release those specific reasons."

is rotting in jail.

On the other hand, banksters, who cheated millions of people out of billions of dollars, collect bonuses and are invited to discuss economic strategy with the President of the United States.

I'm not saying that Madoff doesn't belong in jail, only that many others who do are not there.
