Gen: Some Troops Will Arrive Later in Afghanistan (9-11 Months)
Source: Washington Post

KABUL -- The second-highest ranking U.S. general in Afghanistan says it will take longer to send some troops to the ramped-up war there, indicating it will probably be nine to 11 months before all are in place.

Lt. Gen. David Rodriguez says logistical challenges involved in bringing so many forces in quickly will likely mean that the escalation will take longer than expected to phase in. That would extend the surge beyond next summer.

That means we are looking at September or November before the surge is fully in, yet the evaluations will take place until December. And, McChrystal has already said he will ask for more troops if he feels that is what is needed. We are going to be there forever. Wars without end....

2. Subtext: So shut yer yaps, ya dirty fuckin' hippies!
At least until next November. And preferably after the 2010 elections. Because it's still "too soon" to evaulate whether the surge has worked, because not everyone's in there yet, so don't be looking at the situation yet.

You hear the same thing from a seven-year-old who's been tasked with cleaning up his room.

3. I am waiting for Obama to start firing generals for publicly disagreeing on policy.
The generals are slowing down the withdrawal from Iraq. They are publicly saying that Obama doesn't mean what he says in policy speeches. Here, they blame 'logistics' for their unwillingness to do what he wants them to do.

Fire them.

If they can't do the job, put someone in who can.
