Reid "It is a consensus that includes a public option"

"It is a consensus that includes a public option and will help ensure the American people win in two ways: one, insurance companies will face more competition, and two, the American people will have more choices.

1. 'the American people will have more choices' - was "CHOICE" the big problem with healthcare?
Or affordability and lack of coverage, Senator?

2. I'll believe it when I see it
Can I enroll? Will the PO rates be competitive with those offered by Big Insurance?

I can't be bought for trinkets...

7. Precisely
The public option turned into an empty shibboleth four months ago and anyone who’s still treating it as a make-or-break is every bit as guilty of empty, gestural politics as Rep. Stupak.

The announcement of its death, even if incorrect, has had the salutary effect of revealing who’s just in it for the theater.

5. Yes, but does that public option come with a trigger?
That's the buzz on the street. I guess we need to just find Lieberman and see if he's smiling ear-to-ear to know if it's true or not.

6. Medicare IS a public option and I personally hope that's what he is referring to.
Only opened to more than just 55+.

9. There will be something called a public option in the final bill.
No doubt about that.

Will it mean anything? That remains to be seen.
