BRAD BLOG: The GOP 'Voter Fraud' Scam Finally Exposed to America...

The GOP 'Voter Fraud' Scam Finally Exposed to America
Issues Reported by BRAD BLOG for the Last Three Years Hit the Mainstream and Even Get Advanced Several Important Steps by the Times and McClatchy...

The most valuable takeaway from the entire U.S. Attorney Purge scandal will likely prove to have been the exposure of the long-perpetuated GOP "voter fraud" scam. The scheme has been been so pervasive for so long, but the coverage of it has been largely contained to blogs like ours.

In the interim, the MSM coverage of the issue had been given over to the well-funded Republican propaganda machine which had detailed the phony claims of "voter fraud" as if they were legitimate.

The result, as designed, were calls for restrictive Voter ID legislation at the polling place, an effort that was successful in a number of states. After all, as the Republican snakeoil salesmen oft-repeated, "you need an ID to get on a plane, to cash a check, why not to vote?"

But the U.S. Attorney Purge scandal has helped to reveal the insidious scheme, opening it up for everyone to see by helping to expose the slimy, well-funded campaign for what it really is: little more than a broadly-waged, party-funded, voter suppression ploy....

Although this is great news, these stories always take YEARS to come to fruition, and every crappy election scam just gets "kicked down the street" and fervent promises for a "fix by the next election" is the only hope we ever get.. and of course byu the time the next election comes around, all we hear is that there's no time to get it all together.. but by NEXT election "eyes:

7. Yeah, but here's the difference...

The jig is now up. They can't play that bullshit hand anymore. Yeah, they'll try, but it's no longer you and me and a few others trying to counter the garbage.

The "Voter Fraud" parade is on the record for the world to see. Next time they pull it out and play the same old song, a host of MSM articles and columnist will already have exposed the sham.

They'll try, of course, but I think it's Game Over on that one. Or at least the beginning of Game Over. At least on this one particular chapter in this overall nightmare.

Now we just have to clean up the mess they've left behind. Like Katrina. But without all of the water and the (obviously) dead people.

14. I believe they will try
because they reuse strategy to death.
I mean, Karl Rove is the second generation bastard grandson of Donald Segretti through Lee Atwater.

But, if they try the same sorry ass voter suppression again, folks like you and Greg Palast will be there, and so will a huge number of ordinary folks moshing the living crap out of the astroturfing bastards.

I am well beyond patience. I am whole leagues beyond making nice. Neocon, meet Mr. Louisville Slugger.

I come from Tom's town where we knew how to play rough back in the 30's, and if we gotta, we can play it that way again.

My guess is that the rat fuckers will run.

8. No, that pessimistic view is simply no longer true
For more than 4 years after the Theft of 2000, I would have fully agreed with your statement. In fact, we swam hard upstream against that basic inertia. But the evidence simply no longer supports such a conclusion.

The dynamics of the Theft of 2004 -- pre-election warnings made it (barely) on to the Euphemedia radar, rigged results woefully mismatched against exit polls, the formal objection in Congress on Jan. 6th, 2005, the resulting coordination of reform efforts -- made demonstrable improvements not only possible, but a reality in many places.

The FL-13th theft is not simply being "let go," as one could have presumed just a few years ago. People are really going to jail and getting fired in Ohio. But more importantly, others around the country who would routinely "do their part" were/are watching it all. And are being watched themselves.

Sure, it is far from "enough." But the fact that Rove's claim to have "The Math" (to retain control) was proven false confirms that reform efforts got slightly ahead of his ability to steal this last time around. Many little things were indeed "fixed" by the 2006 election. He likely got a good number of "just couldn't get it done for you" replies this last time around. It is what drove him to implement this risky, desperate scheme of purging "honest brokers" in his own party to set up the Theft of 2008.

This is not to say that it still won't work. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up literally putting Dem candidates in jail, if the rest of the country just rolls their eyes at mere accusations, like NJ did with Menendez. But it has already cost them something. And the "outing" of their voter fraud scam is big ticket item. The other is the probable loss of much of the current class of US Attys as future GOP candidates.

Brad's right. There's real cause for some celebration.

9. If the Republicans were truly concerned about voter fraud....
Ann Coulter would have been arrested by now.

They are not worried about voter fraud they are worried about minorities getting the right to vote without being harassed.

12. Anyone notice Gonzales changed "voter fraud" to "election fraud" on Thursday.
No one challenged him on it, but I hope they don't let him get away with this slimy move to divert attention away from possible hearings on the can of worms that is the GOP's white-hot pursuit of so-called "voter fraud."

Thanks Bradblog for staying on it all these years.
