As surely as the crazy, radical Christian right in America is the enemy of free-thinking liberals, the crazy, radical Islamic right in the Middle East is our enemy.

And the Taliban is first among that number. Remember back in 2000, when they were blowing up sacred statues and raping and executing women who showed a little ankle?

If they are the enemy of women in their own country, are they not the enemy of all women everywhere?

And should the United States not do everything possible to stop this injustice?

I think this is a war that we have to win.

Iraq was a diversion; Iraq was nonsense.

Afghanistan is where the real war is, and we need to do everything in our power to win there.
