Obama Java is selling well with a little help from the DU (and lowering our trade imbalance!)

http://www.usacoffeecompany.com/

Obama Java is grown in President Obama's home State of Hawaii (Island of Kauai). This morning I talked to Ted Massinello over at USA coffee. He knew there were sales coming from links on the DU. He just didn't know how they got here. I filled him in. :-) ALL 52 employees (and their families) at USA coffee thank the DU for it's support.

Behind oil, coffee is the second highest imported commodity to the USA.

Media interviews here: http://www.usacoffeecompany.com/Articles.asp?ID=137

A donation of $3 for each purchase of Big Eddie's Hawaiian beans will be donated to Iraq and Afghanistan Veteran's of America. Please visit http://iava.org/

About Our Coffee

At 22 degrees North Latitude, Kauai has the ideal geographic location for growing coffee. Relatively cool evenings, light winds, and low cloud cover allow for the slow ripening of cherries. Kauai's soils are weathered, deep and slightly acidic-the perfect environment for coffee cultivation.

All processing by-products are reused. After filtering, factory water is applied back to the fields for irrigation. The cherry pulp mulch from pruning are returned to the fields as soil amendments, restoring nutrients and reducing weeds.

Water resources are reused. A efficient drip irrigation system applies water and fertilizers directly to the trees roots NO pesticides are used. Cultivation practices also have reduced the need for herbicides by 75%. 100% renewable energy. All power need are met by hydroelectricity.

The employees are all members of the ILWU and are among the highest paid coffee workers in the world.Employees receive a full range of benefits, including, dental, and retirement, for themselves and their families.

About Us

USA Coffee Company was established with the goal in mind to roast ONLY coffee grown in the USA. It is a fact that only 1% of the world's coffee is grown in Hawaii, and anyone not lucky enough to visit the beautiful State of Hawaii most likely doesn't know that some of the best coffee in the world is becoming a major crop on the Hawaiian Islands replacing the pineapple which went "south of the border".

Beware of coffee labeling that says either Kona or Hawaiian Blend. In most cases you will not find more than 15% Hawaiian beans included....But...USA Coffee Company blends are 100% grown in Hawaii.

Our Kauai blends are 100% grown on Kauai where the workers are well paid and have collective bargaining rights, pension and heath care, which needless to say is not offered anywhere in the world in the Coffee Growing Industry.

As you can see, all of our products in addition to the Coffee are also Made in the USA.

Today, more than ever, we MUST BUY AMERICAN. Our children's future depends upon that.

Ted Massinello
President

2. Thanks for reminding me of this -- I meant to order some when I heard him on
Ed's show, but didn't have the $$ and then totally forgot about it.

And I didn't know about coffee being the #2 commodity import.

7. Obama Java Medium Roast

All American Classic is the dark roast.

100% Hawaiian Grown Coffee - Vienna Roast(Dark)

Spirited flavor fills every cup! Exceptionally rich, full-bodied and bold. A smoky, dark-roasted Hawaiian blend......captures the passion of the Islands. Enjoy!

11. Right..when I lived on Kaua'i from '92 to '98
they were still growing sugar cane but towards to end they were phasing them out to grow macadamia nuts and coffee.

More productive for them.
