Bush spoke 35 mins in a small town hand picked crowd by Boehner-no applause
Until 30 mins into the speech

The audience in the Tippecanoe High School gymnasium was made up of about 500 southern Ohioans invited by local chambers of commerce and the local congressman, Rep. John Boehner, the House Republican leader.

In an opening statement that ran 35 minutes, Bush was first interrupted with applause after a half-hour when he said that "Congress should not have artificial timetables for withdrawal." The audience applauded again when he said he opposed amnesty for foreigners who were in the United States illegally, and when he said that those who hire illegal aliens should be held accountable.

2. It must be getting hard for the Knuckledragger-In-Chief
If he has to round up high school kids to support him for his press ops. I guess there aren't enough adults left in one place who support this madman's vision. Now he's trying to brainwash high school kids.

4. You can tell by the questions that the crowd was screened
Not one of the questions was confrontational; almost all of them were set up for Bush to reel off his talking points. Questions like:

"Mr. President, how would you respond to the rather mistaken idea that the war in Iraq is becoming a war in Vietnam?"
and
"I believe there's a big misconception that scaling back in Iraq will cost less in the long run than to go in and get the job done. How do you get that message across to America, and especially to Congress?"

Why, you'd almost think the questions were written by Bush himself.
