Obama's not FDR but he isn't McCain either....
I'm soo tired of having to vote for a candidate because the other one is worse.

I think I'm pretty much done with the Center-Left Republican Party (aka Democrats).

Hello Greens or Social Democrats. You may never win a national election but at least I'll be acting true to my beliefs...

1. I dislike the greens.
However, I have recently found myself agreeing with them more and more on certain issues. I might not have much a choice, especially if I have to choose between two corporate candidates again.

2. He is a far cry from McCain. That being said,
he is a moderate Democrat, in line with most of the party.

4. You're right, which is why I don't call myself a Democratic Party member anymore.
The DNC left me, when it shit on the memory of FDR liberalism and spit in the face of the working class in favor of sucking off the financial elite and whoring themselves out to corporate interests and $$$$$$$$.

The D$m$cr$tic P$rty.

More interested in being in power for the sake of the privilege and money that comes with it than it is in acting on principles of social and economic justice.

If you want to get angry with people like me for being fed up critics of the DNC then I can't stop that I guess. But I would rather than ordinary people who call themselves members of the Democratic Party would stand up against its lose of focus and demand extraordinary change in both leadership and party practice.

3. Frankly, I'm done with Party politics. When DNC puts poor people first, they can have my vote.
Until then, I'm tired of calling myself a member of a party that consistently prioritizes the wants and interests of the financial elite and the privileged over the needs of the poor or the working class.

I'm tired of trickle-down politics - in economics and social policy - being practiced by the party to which I used to belong. The Democratic Party left me, not the other way around.

I'll still made strategic choices about voting, meaning that if I think its in the best interests of the poor to vote for a Democrat so that an even worse Republican does not win, then I'll do so. But if I don't think its in the best interests of the poor, I will not do so.

5. The republicans are just mad because....
Obama's taking all the same steps and doing all the same things they would be doing.

7. I'd settle for Madonna.... a lot more liberal. speaking of Dems being pretty centrist as a party,
I sometimes wonder if it's worth even staying on as a party member? I'm a liberal person first and foremost. I am a Christian, and Gay, and pro-abortion rights, generally protective of gun rights as long as the owners have had all their shots and documentation so-to-speak, but I'm highly in the belief that the top tax rate needs to be what it was under Nixon and back. These people are getting filthy rich off the workers - they need to pay for making this country whole.

What party would that be? Hard to decide, because I know this, we've got a Democratic Majority as much as we can hope to everrrrrr have with a Democratic president (maybe we'll get lucky and a half dozen repukes will get caught in prostitution stings), and they're still not very progressive-minded!

8. DFL
I wonder, if Minnesota's DFL (Democratic-Farmer-Labor) Party (Party of Wellstone & Franken) could grow/morph/evolve into a new nationwide Democratic Party? Just thinkin' out loud....
