Could Palin Take Down President Obama in 2012?
Vote.

Now read the comments. Some of them are quite funny/distubing.

15. You know, more and more maybe its not a bad thing
I mean lets face it, the teabaggers want to to shoot the country in the head. Why not let them? It would be sort of culling the herd. The smart would survive. The Teabaggers would find themselves starving in droves. The country would eventually revolt. Hmmm maybe we ought to let them have it. Just to see how far down the rabbit hole we go.

3. What Stray Cat said; there's no bottom to what people will vote for on the Right...
and a lot of Dems will be thoroughly demotivated by then.

12. but also remember that most of the people did not vote for him
Even more than the official counts, remember that tens of thousands (and likely more) of citizens were denied their vote, and who knows how many were uncounted?

13. Of course, not. 2012 is NOT 2000 and Palin is NOT Bush.
We live in a totally different world. The web and the amount of people using were very, very limited in 2000. DU and DKos didn't exist. KO and Rachel's shows didn't exist. Ed wasn't on the air. There was no counter to the well-honed RW smear machine and echo chamber.

Add to that, Bush was a largely unknown entity outside of Texas where he enjoyed decent popularity and won re-election and served out his second term. He wasn't a quitter. Americans don't like quitters -- with the exceptional of a sliver of the electorate who would be worshipping some knucklehead with a Democratic president in the Oval, regardless if that knucklehead was Palin or not and regardless if that Democratic president was Obama or not.

16. Oh come on...Give Obama a little more credit. He is definitely NOT Al Gore.
I like Al Gore alright and of course think he would have been great instead of Bush but they ran two completely different campaigns.

And even W is better than Palin to the average American. You simply cannot run for Pres if you resigned as Gov for no reason. It's impossible.

4. Only if the braindead churchgoers once again turn into the whores of the GOP
That's the only way the GOP could win any time.

5. It depends...
o whether or not the media can convince the majority that they would rather have a beer with Palin than Obama. That's how Bush got elected.

6. My response:
If Palin wins it would be proof that god is real and that he hates America. Either that or the average voter is dirt stupid.

9. Please please please if there is a God he can not give us another
reagan as the "so called" son of reagan suggests. This person is not only nuts he can't see what really happened he is brain washed by the history that was formulated and not what really happened.

10. I just spent the weekend with wingnuts
who think she's make an "awesome" President. These are parents on my daughter's soccer team - we were 500 miles from home at a tournament, so I was somewhat captive. I got to hear all about how she's a working mom, how she's not afraid of "Obama and his thugs", how she understands working people, how she represents working Americans and how she would bring God back to America. I made an effort to argue, but just gave up and shut up. I guess that wasn't the right thing to do but these people can't be reasoned with and frankly depress me. I did tell them that I think they deserve a President Sarah Palin, which they didn't take as the insult I intended it to be though.
