It appears that my congressman does not read email. I just received
a response that addressed my concerns about Tricare. I don't think my letter to my senators and congressman (A. Boyd, Florida) was about Tricare at all. Here it is:

"Here are some of the things we need:

Stop participating in endless wars that we can neither afford nor win

Begin immediately to bring home the troops - our spouses, children, relatives, friends and neighbors who are engaged in these conflicts we can neither afford nor win

Reassess all the treaties that involve the more than 700 military sites in more than 35 countries outside the United States. Close the sites! We can use the money currently being spent on those leases on bases in the US. It is time for the rest of the world to defend itself. Japan, as an example, does not want us there - the sound of military jets offends them - bring the troops and their families home and let them have the bases. Our own local economies will benefit by the expansion and the salaries of the military and civilian members involved.

Review all the foreign aid that is currently being spread throughout the world. If they don’t like us, don’t send them money, supplies (military or civilian), arms, or equipment. Let them buy these items at full market value. There are enough hungry and homeless people in the US to keep the assistance programs alive. If we do send food supplies to anyone, make sure it gets to the people who need it rather than the despots who are crushing their own citizens under the weight of poverty and deprivation.

For our health care, with programs such as SCHIP, Medicare, Military health care, Tricare, VA, Medicaid, etc., there are approximately 100 million people (total) being served. Stop all the fooling around and tap dancing, and expand Medicare or develop a new similar program IMMEDIATELY to cover the remainder of the citizens. The programs are in place, expansion should not be that difficult. Please don’t try to placate us with something called Medicare E, which has nothing to do with Medicare.

That’s a start. You were elected to take care of the people. Please do so."

1. I've told people all along they never do.
But there are exceptions to the case. A few concerned congress people. Al Franken is very good and so is Jim Oberstar. Kolbuchar never never never sends an email, or answers one. She is too busy sticking her nose up the lobbyist butt. This is one democratic senator who should go.
