Carlos Santana is my hero!
just came from concert and he gave lengthy speech about love and Obama and "you may not like him now but this is an experiment that is just starting and don't judge too soon" Saw him a year ago and he was ALL PRO OBAMA.....gawd love him...he had people collecting donations in the lobby to help the unemployed and hungry in Las Vegas "one of the hardest hit cities in the US" so true... what an uplifting concert that I can't articulate..but something akin to a revival in a good way. One man next to me told me he was going to go into rehab as so inspired.

8. Carlos turned 22 in July of '69
so he would've been 20 when he graduated High School. Not impossible to believe. The thing about his appearance at Woodstock was how amazing he and his unknown(at the time) band played there.

3. the reason not to judge yet
is that if you judge by whats been done up to now you are left with the uncomfortable realization that congress and our prez have come up way frickin short. And boy would that be an uncomfortable thing to acknowledge eh? So yeah. lets just give it another year.

12. why do we compare Obama to repubs a year later?
That election is done. We dont need to compare Obama to the repubs anymore, because he is the president, and they arent. The reason you do that is because its the best you can come up with.

Now --today--we measure the president by what he does and doesnt do, not whether hes better or worse than some candidates that ran in an election a while back thats over and settled. Get it?
What we are talking about, my dear skittles, is crap like this:

why dont you explain this, in between cursing fits? Frame it in terms of hope and change. go ahead.

11. I saw Carlos
At the Chicago Amphitheater in 1973. Tremendous performance. One thing I will never forget was walking into the bathroom and seeing a heroin addict passed out in the corner with a needle busted off in his arm. 36 years ago. Unbelievable.

13. Funny story...
Edited on Tue Nov-24-09 02:25 AM by Cessna Invesco Palin
Some friends of mine once saw Carlos Santana getting out of his car in Marin county, CA to go to Safeway. And of course they were all like, "Holy shit, Carlos Santana!" So they went over to check out his car. There was a big pile of CDs in the passenger's seat.

They were all Carlos Santana CDs. :-D

The man is a legend.

16. thank you for that!
too funny! this was 3rd concert we've been to of his and he just gets more juicy each time. Love the Polynesian percussionist who's been with him since '75... his wife brought fresh leis for the after party and it smelled divine!
