Washington Times: Obama lacks ‘blood impulse’ for what America ‘is about’ due to his ‘Kenyan father'
Ahh good old fashioned racism. Look at his picture at the link and tell me this guy isn't a GOP caricature come true. Sample reader comment: "Pilotshark says: 'DNFP says: Hey, if we liposuctioned his face, I could heat my home for the winter. The eyes alone have gallons of oil and waste reserves…' drill baby drill." -WB

Washington Times op-ed: Obama lacks ‘blood impulse’ for what America ‘is about’ due to his ‘Kenyan father.’

In a column today criticizing President Obama’s bow before the Japanese Emperor, Wesley Pruden, the editor emeritus of The Washington Times, claims that President Obama “seems never to have studied much American history” because he apparently doesn’t know that “the essence of America is that all men stand equal and are entitled to look even a king, maybe particularly a king, straight in the eye.” Pruden then claims this lack of understanding of America’s “essence” is “no fault of the president” because Obama’s father was Kenyan and his mother was “attracted to men of the Third World”:

But Mr. Obama, unlike his predecessors, likely knows no better, and many of those around him, true children of the grungy ’60s, are contemptuous of custom. Cutting America down to size is what attracts them to “hope” for “change.” It’s no fault of the president that he has no natural instinct or blood impulse for what the America of “the 57 states” is about. He was sired by a Kenyan father, born to a mother attracted to men of the Third World and reared by grandparents in Hawaii, a paradise far from the American mainstream.

Pruden has a history of writing racially-charged items. In 2005, he wrote a column criticizing the Senate for passing a resolution that apologized for never enacting an anti-lynching law. As Media Matters noted at the time, Pruden had previously made numerous “sympathetic statements about the Confederacy” and employed “a neo-Confederate activist in the Times newsroom.”

3. Typical racist crap...
Not at all surprised about this type of stuff from the Washington Post. He was just looking for a less vile way of saying Obama's white mother was sleeping with black men. But there is no kinder genlter way to say such racist crap.

7. How many millons of people were just insulted - all of the third countries, all of Hawaii, all
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 12:20 PM by peacetalksforall
of Kenya, all of Black Africa, all of African heritage all over the world, especially in this country - the U.S.

If your heritage is not Northern European you are nothing in America. That is what Pruden is saying, that is what the Washington Times is saying, that is what all the employees of the Washington Times are saying, that is what Reverend Moon (owner) is saying, and that is what all right and left wing racists are saying.

That is the widest bat every swung against all non-whites who are not from Northern Europe.

What a way to sell newspapers.

Does this mean there are no blacks, no dark skin people from other heritages working at the Washtinton Times. Does this mean that a Black American right winger is in a no mands land?

The scope of this insult just amazes me. I think it is the worst I've heard.

Someone should write a book - and get it down in writing for posterity - the degress of written word filled with hatred and disrespect - in America. Blind ignorance.

Half the book should cover the bios of those with the drive to bring us the hate - starting with a long piece on the Reverend Moon - who claims he is what?

15. I forgot to include hippies - does anyone know what Pruden looked like in the 60's and 70's.?
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 12:35 PM by peacetalksforall
Short hair? Clean shaven? Sport jacket? Neat shirt? Ties? Shined shoes? Slacks? Never jeans? And he never went to a rock and roll performance or smoked. Not even a yoga class. I assume. Or was he just a young adult living in a house with prim and proper parents and playmates?

He and Michelle Malkin must be friends. She has let it rip about the decadence of the 60's being rhe reason for everything wrong with Democrats - or was it everything wrong for the entire country?

26. The Right has always been obsessed with the 60's
They hate it because civil rights took a big leap forward, and they could no longer keep women or non-whites "in their place". Then people had the temerity to question war and our country's direction. They LOVE the 50's, where lily-white America reigned, and stifling conformity and pious "Christians" ruled the nation. "Under God" was inserted into the Pledge of Allegiance, and "In God We Trust" replaced "E Pluribus Unum" as our motto. Segregation, de facto in the north, de jure in the south, was the norm.

Up until last year, I used to work in an office across from a mall in a very white Republican area, and the piped-in music at the mall (The First Church of Consumer America) was ALL from the 50's. Not only inside the mall, but also, very loudly, from speakers outside. It was like the creepy Republican/Right-wingers who ran the city wanted to keep, even in our subconscious mind, the ideal of Perfect 50's America alive. How wholesome those times were! Before the 60's ruined America! The good ol' days when virtue and white goodness ran this country! Eisenhower, save us! :puke:

to the economy that bushcheney put it in the crapper.

But, it's had a republicon governor for the last 8 years so that hasn't helped. Next year I hear Rep Neil Abercrombie from Kaua'i is going to run for Gov and I will be back in time to vote for him!

14. yes it's a staple of white supremacy
and modern colonial thought. During the Spanish Inquisition they utilized the concept of limpieza de sangre (purity of blood) to persecute people. If you see how segments of the GOP go nuts over Obama, Judge Sotomayor, immigration etc etc, whether they admit it or not it's related to white supremacist ideology.
