Fuck the Bahrian Royal family (They paid off FIFA)
Edited on Tue Oct-27-09 02:44 AM by brettdale
Im telling you, the Bahrian royal family paid off FIFA.

New Zealand will play Bahrain for a spot in the 2010 world cup.

Well the sporting body that runs soccer (FIFA) has for the first time in its freakin history changed the AWAY GOAL FOR EXTRA TIME.

Basically for the past 5674 years, if a game went into extra time, it would be treated like a separate match, but now the AWAY GOAL RULE for the first time in 5674 years will count in extra time.

This is bad for New Zealand, because we didn't score when we played Bahrian in Bahrian.

Soccer fans here will know what Im talking about, the rest of you will just say, huh????????

Im betting the Bahrain royal family paid off FIFA.

Sorry for venting, Im suprised you cant hear four million kiwi screaming abuse, heck I dont think Im going to last until the game on November 14th.

1. That is pretty strange... did FIFA give a reason they were doing this?
Also... any famous kiwi football players?

I can't think of any off the top of my head (not meant as an insult... there aren't many famous American footballers either).

:D

4. Sepp Blatter thinks he's a mafia Don
FIFA is corrupt as hell. You watch Argentina grab a seed in spite of squeaking into the finals by the skin on Maradona's teeth.

On the other hand New Zealand still has the upper hand here. Win at home and you're in. The rule change sucks but NZ still has control of things.

6. Fingers crossed
fingers and toes are crossed that we can win at home so the away goal rule wont count.

5. Just be glad the Aussies are out of the the Oceania confederation ...
Now the All Whites can be king of the heap, beating the likes of Nauru and the Solomon Islands.

Just giving you a hard time.

I'd love to see the Kiwis in the World Cup. The haka would be cool -- or do they do that in soccer?

8. Are you confusing away goals with golden goals?
The away goal rule has been in effect for years (Iran 1 Australia 1: Australia 2 Iran 2 - OUCH!!!). Golden goal has nothing to do with home and away.

10. My understanding is that that's always been the case
The score after extra time is the one that counts. I know this doesn't always apply in every tournament and if FIFA has changed the rules at the last moment, that simply sucks!!!! But I read on an NZ website that FIFA had simply clarified the procedure.

Anyway, all the best to our Kiwi brothers and sisters. Hopefully we'll see you in South Africa.
