Saw "Capitalism: A Love Story" this afternoon (spoilers)
Most morbidly funny scene? Dubbing the Jesus film with updated "Supply Side Jesus"-style dialogue.

The scene most likely to confrm your worst fears about the U.S.? Editing the old "History of the Roman Empire" educational film with scenes from contemporary America.

Most heartbreaking scene? Plenty to choose from, but the family affected by Wal-Mart's 'Dead Peasant' life insurance scam was the hardest for me to watch, followed very closely by the evicted families.

Most encouraging scene? The Chicago Sit-in Strike, with second place going to with the scene of the Miami family who wouldn't budge (and are still there according to the closing credits).

Most enraging scene? The real estate 'vulture', smugly bragging about his way of making a living.

Of course, the scenes with Bush, Greenspan, Dodd, etc, were in a wretched class all by themselves.

If you like Moore, you will love this film.

And as the saying goes: If you aren't outraged, you aren't paying attention.

1. Well done! Not completely spoiled by your spoilers...
And your choices for disclosure have enticed me further.

Great review! Thanks.

3. Best "BWAHAAHAHAH!" moment:
When the voiceover is trying to answer the question (I paraphrase here) "Why do these working people vote against their own interests so much? Why do they defend tax cuts for the super rich?"

And the visual shows people sitting around a dinner table eating from abundantly-filled plates, and a little dog, maybe a chihuahua mix, BOUNCING up to look at the table top, and bouncing back down, and BOUNCING back up, obviously thinking if it can just jump hard enough and high enough it's gonna get up there and get a crack at that pot roast...

That one was priceless.

reminiscently,
Bright

5. Then the dog who dropped his treat off of his own snout into his mouth
Perfect. :-)

Also: That widow whose employer received millions on her late husband's 'Dead Peasant' policy - did you notice that quick edit showing her George W. Bush Commemmorative Plate? Underscored the whole "voting against their own interests" concept very succinctly.

4. Thanks for the review!
I didn't like it as much as F911 and SiCKO, but thought it was well done. I am going to see it again when it hits the budget theater next month.

7. It made a solid sequel to "Roger & Me"
In a way, this was a 20th Anniversary Tribute to his first film, with Flint still playing a prominent role. I like how he resurrected a few choice scenes from that film, and then updated it by STILL trying to visit their HQ and exasperating the security guards.
