Bachmann asks Pawlenty to expand probe of ACORN
U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann is asking Gov. Tim Pawlenty to name a special investigator to probe ACORN in Minnesota.

Bachmann says the step would ensure proper use of public funds by the activist group and its affiliates. The two-term Republican member of Congress is a longtime critic of ACORN.

Pawlenty spokesman Brian McClung says the GOP governor has already directed his administration to review ACORN's use of state money.

Pawlenty moved last month to block ACORN's state funding, even though the group doesn't have any current state contracts. ACORN got $109,000 from the Minnesota government agencies from 1996 to 2008, with the most recent grant of $7,500 for foreclosure prevention work coming in 2008.

And the following reader comment is a classic:

It's important

ACORN off-shored a generation's worth of jobs, created a series of loopholes ushering in unregulated derivatives and a wacky housing market, printed up funny money, took us to an optional and losing war in Iraq, bailed out the most greedy/inept corporate managers this side of the Great Depression. Oh wait, it was the bipartisan D.C. establishment that did all this. I now return you to our ordinarily scheduled Bachmann Diversion. Next distraction, please.

1. Does Bachmann actually do anything worthwhile to justify a paycheck?
Or does she just waste all her time on silly partisan bullshit?

3. If they don't have any current state contracts
I don't see where the state has any jurisdiction to investigate unless they have specific evidence of malfeasance from prior funding. And considering none of those "expose videos" came from Minnesota, I don't see where they have due cause.

Bachmann needs psychiatric help badly.
