Welfare Queens...
Well since some insist on using this wonderful talking point. they do exist. Oh and they don't drive a Cadillac either... that is too low brow for them. I mean why drive a Cadillac when a Mercedes, a Lexus or a Bentley will do? Hell the real ones may even go for the Maserati.

In case you wonder, no, they don't live on the wrong side of the tracks, but they are taking quite a bit of the gov'ment tit. They are the leaders of companies like Citibank, and they want to remain as the leaders of the Plotonomy, and they come up with crap like welfare queens.

So we need to ask... are the real welfare queens projecting?

Just a thought.

That said, time for people to call anybody who uses this misnomer to talk of the poor, for their RIGHT WING talking points. Don't let them get away with it. Make them smell the crap they are spreading...

1. I used the term in a post today
But not in an effort to spread a right-wing talking point. I used it to make a point about the dog-whistling surrounding the right wings obsession with ACORN.

My extremely long post here:

4. This is not about you, but those who insist on using it the way
Luntz and company designed it to be used.

Yes, we do have them, even here.

10. Thanks
I was a little worried. It is discouraging that people here would use the term that way.

7. "Welfare Queen" is a very interesting example of the dual thinking in America
When a rich person gets a handout, it's a laudable thing. When a dirty poor person gets 1/10,000 of the same, they're the evil that is rotting America.

I suppose in America, we think that having a certain income level makes you sacred, and being below a certain income level makes you tainted.

wow, that's perfect! can I use it...?

I have lived on the 1/1000th of a handout for too many years as a single mom ... and I work my butt off just to get by, each day.

Corporations are EVIL - and the people who run them should have to experience welfare lifestyle for a year or more...with no end in sight, so they can really understand the hopelessness that permeates the less fortunate percentage of the population...

9. I started a half assed blog devoted to your point exactly.

I haven't had the time to keep it going. i called it This is a Welfare Queen.

The about me from the blog:Salutations! I maintain two blogs (sporadically posting in both). The first was set up to construct a counter-narrative against the right-wing racist trope known as the Welfare Queen. In light of recent events, the blog seeks to highlight the true queens of government subsidy-the corporate giants, their executive officers, and the politicians who love them. The second is a more general blog about things (both large and small) that amuse me on a day-to-day basis. It is more of a classic journal filled with random, sometimes half-constructed, ramblings.

I guess you can say I agree wholeheartedly.
