Hey Remember all the US Stars from the 1980 Summer Olympics!
You don't because the US boycotted the games for the USSR's occupation of Afghanistan.

What a difference 30 years make.

2. Nah
Carter was using inane protest measures. Raygun was the one who hired Bin Laden.

5. It may not be a pleasant truth
but Carter DID authorize funding the mujahideen in mid-1979.

3. One of my son's swimming coach when he was in high school had made the team
and he was (still is) forever bitter, as he was a bit long in the tooth and could not compete the next go round. The atheletes were not happy

4. It must have sucked to have been an Athlete
Working that hard to be caught up in some international political battle.

7. The boycott was a regrettable decision by us (Carter); not fair to the Athletes,
and it didn't change anything in Afghanistan.
