Could somebody keep us posted what's going on with the vote in Committee? It's
not on either of my C-Span channels, and I'm having a hell of a time getting it online (where it's on C-Span 3)

Thank!!

1. People are too busy with Polanski apparently.
It should be in a few minute.

2. It was interesting this morning, and what little I heard (Kerry) on my sporadic
web feed was good, too. I'm bummed they're not showing it on TV.

One of the commentators on SNBC said "they" don't expect PO to pass, and that "they" are actually just hoping to open further discussion on the topic. We'll see...

4. Baucus talking. No to public option because it will not pass in Senate.
Edited on Tue Sep-29-09 01:45 PM by Mass
Social Security was not complete, so why is it bad that this bill is not complete?

3. I am listening on c-span 3 at the website
Right now, Cornyn is blathering about nothing to kill time. Nelson waived his time. Kerry laid it out beautifully!

Here is the link I am using: http://c-span.org/Watch/C-SPAN3_wm.aspx

Now it is back to Rockefeller for the close.

Therefore, he is against it.

10. Rockefeller: This is about the people.
PO was dead, we brought it back.

Public option makes sense because it doesn't have to earn a profit.

WV people don't like the excessive profits.

12. Rockefeller: Process more important than people -- don't go there
That is where we are going and it is bad. Don't just pass a bill to say you passed a bill.

"Astounded" that (R) colleagues are OK with $483bn in new subsidies being given to insurance companies on top of what they are already getting when they aren't even competing in many states. Its obscene.

What is wrong with giving people a choice with PO?

13. Surprisingly, Bill Nelson was talking like a convert this morning.
After Rockefeller went through a litany of insurance company horror stories, and how companies evade federal regulations.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

at odds with one another? Do they have to pick ONE? It just occurred to me I have no idea...

Insurance won't obey new regs.

Sliding towards single payer -- no better way to do that than to keep the Status Quo

LOL!

Give them an option that doesn't answer to Wall Street.

"Public option is on the march".

If you want single payer -- go for the status quo.
