I just figured out what a Centrist is.
A Centrist will be the relative sitting on the couch complaining to his guests about how it pisses him off that the ATMs make you select a language and how America is losing its English identity; and then you walk in and he looks up and asks you why you haven't taught your kids how to speak Spanish, yet.

1. If that is your view of "Centrists"...
I'd suggest that it's a bit more complicated than that--but, you already knew that, didn't you?

8. Lighten up.
I'm sure that the pendulum moves a notch left or right, depending on where you live.

4. a centrist is the person you have to convince to vote for the politician you want to win
cause if the centrists go the other way then your talking about a landslide loss...

5. A centrist is very different from the left or right. They lack an idealogical soul.
They merely care that the largest amount of wealthy politicians get their backs scratched through the legislative process.

7. It's a person....
...with a pair of yellow stripes up their back and a dead squirrel on their head.

Because those are the only things in the middle of the road.

15. My problem with them, and I realize this is a general statement,
is that many only seem to have ideals when it's convenient to them. I also realize the flip side of that, that ideology can be taken too far to the point where there's zero pragmatism. I find both kind of useless as I get older.

If they attacked the Right half as much as they attack the Left the Left wouldn't be attacking them half as much they do, we would shore up our Democratic flanks as the Lefties would come back to to the fold more and more, and we wouldn't have to appeal to "swing voters" who basically just like to be on the winning side and don't seem to care why they're winning, just so long as they do.
