<snip>
Embattled Pace Airlines CEO William C. Rodgers was arrested at Piedmont Triad International Airport this afternoon by investigators with the N.C. Department of Insurance, the NCDOI said Tuesday.

Investigators said Rogers knowingly canceled his employee group health insurance without providing the required 45-day notice to his 337 employees. Rodgers is charged with one count of willful failure to pay group health insurance premiums, the Dept. of Insurance said.

Additional charges are pending, and investigators from the department's criminal investigations division are still seeking information from Pace employees, the DOI said.

Rodgers was arrested at the airport Tuesday afternoon and taken to the Forsyth County Magistrate's Office for processing.

An informational meeting for Pace employees has been scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. More information can be found at the NCDOI's Web site.

2. He owned and operated Hooters Air
which also shut down.

May Pace be shut down as well or made employee-owned and operated.

3. Yet another reason for single-payer Medicare For All.
People should not be at the mercy of criminal employers cheating them on their health care coverage.

This whole circus is a freaking joke.

5. Plenty of employers have been in trouble for not paying Social Security/Medicare payroll taxes.
It probably bleeds into health care premiums as well.

Good question, malaise.

So many criminals. So few courtrooms.

7. Was it the employees or the insurance company that sicced the law on him?
Both have a vested interest.
