Remember the four-page bullet-pointed healthcare 'plan' the GOP unveiled this spring? So did the attendees at a Virginia town hall hosted by Minority Whip Eric Cantor and Democrat Bobby Scott. :D
RICHMOND, Va. — House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) was asked several times on Monday about the GOP’s lack of a specific healthcare reform plan.
<snip>
Richmond resident Ben Ragsdale demanded to know how Republicans were going to expand access to healthcare if they have only a four-page list of bullet-points as their plan.
“What is your substantive proposal to meet these real everyday problems that people have? Where’s the beef?” Ragsdale asked, triggering applause from the crowd.
<snip>
Cantor earlier this year said House Republican leaders would release an alternative healthcare plan, but have not done so yet. House Republicans have introduced several different health bills, as opposed to one concrete alternative.
Marlise Skinner, a registered nurse who has dealt with medical insurance issues for years, also pressed Cantor.

After Cantor argued that dropping the restrictions for buying out-of-state health insurance would reduce prices, Scott responded that crossing state lines to purchase healthcare plans would have to be regulated.

Meanwhile, back in Kansas:
It's been a barrel of laughs this summer for Kansas Republicans.
However, instead of Rep. Lynn Jenkins laughing at uninsured constituents, we find voters actually laughing at another Kansas Republican -- Rep. Todd Tiahrt. Earlier this summer, Tiahrt held a town hall meeting on health care reform and made the false claim that H.R. 3200 will set a cap on doctors wages. That claim has been debunked across the board and the attendees knew it.
It's really a stunning rebuke of Kansas Republicans and their lies:

This is just another sign of the tide turning against the Republicans in Kansas.
<snip>
That's why we've seen a statewide turn of events away from the GOP. Midsummer we saw Sens. Brownback and Roberts' approval ratings drop and reports that pro-health care reform crowds were outnumbering opposition at a Lynn Jenkins town hall in Lawrence.
Can't forget not one, but two big rallies in support of Rep. Dennis Moore this summer. And do we really need to recap Laughing Lynn Jenkins' no good very bad horrible August recess?
