After all, conviction is the point, right? Otherwise Bush finishes his term and calls the entire process political payback for Clinton. Wouldn't the Republicans have really loved to actually convict Clinton, or was the impeachment itself enough to satisfy them? Impeachment without conviction is like sex without orgasm--it might be fun while it lasts, but is ultimately unsatisfying. So by all means, since there is no chance of conviction at this time by the Senate let everything else slide and indulge yourselves with impeachment during the remaining time of Bush's term. If impeachment is all it takes to make you feel better, then go for it. Everything else and more will go on while all the attention is on impeachment.
