Gotta say, I sure did like the icy stares Barack, Joe, and Nancy shot to Wilson
in response to Wilson's puerile outburst last night.

That is an image burned in deep now. I don't think I'll ever forget it.

1. I saw that clip again tonight...
And wow! They turned as one...and the stares were meant to strike fear in Wilson's foolish heart!

I won't forget it either...

And neither will he, lol!

4. Hey California Peggy. Howdy!
I thought the speech was a triumph and all the Pukes could muster against it was some half-assed petulant outburst from a marginal right wing hack from South Carolina.

And the folks up on the podium stared him down but good.

11. There they are. Three expressions, tight as a dance troupe, drilling thru
the air space between the podium and Joe Wilson's miserable heart.

Zowie.

Thanks for the photo, fishwax.

kick you know what. Thank goodness he had some restraint.

34. the corners of Obama's smile reminded me a bit of Jack Nicholson's Joker
Especially when I saw the clip on youtube. I'd have serious chills going down my spine if that look was directed at me.

you mention and then that flash of, "If this weren't on tv I'd go out there and kick that fool's ass from here to Charleston."

12. This is what Joe (the good one) said on ABC this morning about the bad, idiot Joe:
"I was embarrassed for the chamber and a Congress I love," Vice President Joe Biden said on ABC News this morning. "It demeaned the institution."

Can't say it better then that.

15. Yes. Biden is no slouch on the public remark. And he's scored big
here. He can make something real big quite personal and something quite personal real big.

I like that zoom lens he carries around in his public dialogue.

and Obama's little arm twitch,
shaking it off, then sternly saying with his cold darkest stare, "not true".

he does not fear the freaks, they just annoy him. Joe and Nancy glaring. it was beautiful!

8. Yep. He looked like he was weighing several options, one of which might
have been to call Wilson out and force him to defend the Republican alternative.

That would have been a real brief dialogue.

10. A classic, that's for sure -
they all turned at the exact same moment. It looked choreographed, it was that perfect.

And they looked. If looks could kill, Pelosi would have had blood all over her hands within those few seconds.

I still can't believe that really happened. The GOPigs have sunk that low, and are doing everything they can to take all of America down with them.

This vulgarity is really hard to take, but that's all they've got.

I wish Barry Goldwater could show up, just for a day, and see what passes for "conservatives" these days.

He'd die all over again, of embarrassment, disappointment, and shame........................................

13. Agree -- Goldwater would be puking in the aisles.
If there were any justice in the world the Republicans would be crawling all over health care reform generally and behavioral health coverage especially, as they have so many twisted and crazy folks.

Joe Wilson is just one, although clearly he shot into first place last night.

Agree also that this seems to be all they've got to use. It bodes well for two terms of Obama's judicial appointments, and likely a decent health care reform bill.

Good to see you knocking around these boards making good sense as always, Tangerine LaBamba.

14. Prevention
I explained to my son what it would be like if we heard his cell-phone's ring-tone during his grandfather's funeral.

He didn't forget to turn it off.

Too bad there weren't any grown-ups on the GOP bench.

I bet the actual cause was the 'doom' stares he got from Barack, Joe, and Nancy.

22. It does seem as if the Republicans figured they could bully Obama
into submission.

It doesn't appear to be a working strategy so far.

Even though it's been 24-plus hours, I'm still shocked at the Wilson outburst. There are literally millions of grade school kids who behave better than that.

25. Hey lonestarnot. What killed me was that Wilson left the entire nation
with the impression that he was either shit-faced drunk, utterly immature, or both.

It's been 24 hours or so for me to think it over. I think I'm leaning toward 'both.'

scanned the crowd and then boom -- he screams it again. That's when she glares. She has good hearing.

39. Thank you, lamp_shade. The "live action shot" freshens the memory
of the moment it happened.

I'm guessing Wilson was possibly loaded, or maybe he wasn't loaded and was just full of himself.

Another possibility is that he was trying to win the esteem of his GOP colleagues who he felt might value him more if he did something outrageous against the president.
