Major corporation- you have heard of it

Okay so we had:
NO deductible
$15 Copay for doctor visits
$15 for Specialists (which I have used quite a bit-bad ankle)
$0 for dental

Next year......wait for it

$500 deductible- not sure if there will still be Copays. Haven't heard about dental yet.

First $500 is out of our pockets (and people who don't make what we do). It will take at least 10 visits by all three of us (hopefully not) to even get out of the deductible. We have never used that many visits even when I was seeing a podiatrists fairly regularly.

That is all I know for now. I'll update later.

OPINION-seems to us that the "provider" is either frontloading what they will claim is their added burden AND/OR they are jacking up the rate to lower it later (but still to a higher rate than before) because, you know, they just care so much about us

3. It's criminal.
I have a $500 deductible, too, and never use that much....I don't opt out of the plan and keep my $120/month premium lopped off my paycheck, because, what if something serious happens to my daughter or myself? Insurance=extortion+racketeering.

4. What you need is to become a "Medical Family"
Our rates our going up and even though my company was profitable there is a raise freeze, because our umbrella corp isn't profitable.

So we get a nice little salary decrease. It's awesome

5. If that is what one company is doing, they all will
Ours isn't until October.

June they froze vacations, July they froze our pension, August they forced early retirements, September they announced that only half the employees would be getting pay raises.

So it stands to reason that October will be another shaft with benefits.

But the corporate profits are still good and the stock holders are making out like thieves.
