Glenn Beck/Lonesome Rhodes
Keith Olbermann is brilliant in consistently calling Beck "Lonesome Rhodes" from the amazing 1957 film A Face in the Crowd. Here's a short clip. Rhodes' manipulation of an ignorant populace and subsequent meltdown are being re-enacted with astonishing effect.

Let's hope Beck loses more than just the ability to spell. He's dangerous.

1. IIRC the movie ended with old Lonesome
drunk, delusioned and out of work and the limelight with no friends.

3. Yep, his belief that he wasn't just a puppet too
betrayed him in the end. As, I hope, will Beck's.

2. An amazing film, especially for anybody who thinks Andy Griffith was only Sheriff Taylor...
plus a hard-core Dem...

Glenn should watch it, see how it turns out ...

5. Andy Griffith could be the scariest villain in the world!
Okay, he's got some real competition on Fox these days, but you're right, anyone who only saw Andy of Mayberry didn't know half of what he could do.

6. I only saw it for the first time about a year ago ... amazing acting job
and great script/premise. When KO first mentioned
"Lonesome Rhodes" in comparison to Beckerwocky, I
burst out laughing because it's SOOOO TRUE!

7. The film was written in TV's infancy. It was amazing.
