Just throwing this one out here re: Senator Kennedy: Why did you expect any different from FR?
Guys, I gotta' say this.

Everytime our side loses a notable (and today's loss is incalculable,) some go racing off to FR to get the immediate reaction.

WHY do we even care? I can set my clock by what is going to happen. FR is going to trot out the most vile, hateful language to describe a man who spent his life in public service (or anyone else that featured a "D" after their name). Was he perfect? No. Nobody is. At the same time, there is NOBODY over there who can touch the sheer volume of things done to better all our lives by Senator Kennedy.

Seriously. Why do we look to them at all? Why waste the bandwidth? If they are too stupid and spiteful to wish their condolences to the loved ones of any departed, they're not worth listening to, and they will NEVER change.

IMHO, YMMV.

We are better than they are. If we remembered this more often (and acted accordingly,) the world would be a better place.

I don't go there much, but I don't mind the threads that keep an eye on them.

Did you think that republicans wouldn't be dancing on his grave. More reason for people to despise them is a good thing for us imo. Kennedy was a great man and I have always been an admirer of his work in the Senate.

9. Here's a question
We already know our enemy. Why are we reminding ourselves yet again?

There are other things, much more important things, to focus on.

Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 03:08 PM by LanternWaste
I really don't think that being privy to petty bathroom humor is something Tzu would count as "knowing one's enemy..."

Visceral satisfaction or morbid curiosity? Sure. Strategic insights of an enemy? Hardly.

22. I don't think Tzu would have overlooked any detail of his
enemy's thinking. Even there bathroom humor. More than likely he would find a way to turn it into useful propaganda, but that's just my opinion fell free to agree or disagree. I wonder though do you remember what happened to George "macaca" Allen? Bathroom humor ended his carer in politics.

You can of course point us to a relevant source which illustrates Tzu's reliance on bathroom humor for strategic or tactical advantages, yes?

12. No one is forcing anyone to click on any particular thread...
Some people here like to see what they are doing over there. We all have our reasons for not wanting to see something, or for seeing something. Why do progressives insist on foisting their wishes upon others?

Chill.

Chill, and don't click.

Chill, don't click, and for crying out loud quit telling other people what the fuck to do!

14. I didn't tell anyone what to do
It's unfortunate that you can't seem to grasp what it is I said.

I fail to understand why there are people here who seem to believe wallowing in the sewage that is FR is a great thing, or that they expected any different reaction from the one spewed over there when anyone with a "D" after their name dies.

In the meantime, I'm sure this escaped you as well, but you're telling me what to do, aren't you? Pot, meet kettle.

21. Sarah Palin's Facebook 'Friends' Celebrate Ted Kennedy's Death: "One Less Socialist," "Good Riddens"
In a subject title. I have to see it regardless of the clicking. If I wanted to see this crap, I know where to go to find it. The only reason anybody could want to see this shit is out of some perverse need for superiority when they turn around and do the exact same shit when the situation is reversed.

That's just the way it is. I have no interest in it. Apparently many have a great interest in it. I've no idea why.

They don't actually have to face the person they're eviscerating via message board, therefore, all pretense of humanity can be suspended.

Referencing them diminishes DU, legitimizes them as The Opposition, and brings them over here.

Ignoring them is the healthiest and most productive option.
