Q: Could the DSCC work out a deal with blue dog Democratic Senators to...
effectively replace their insurance industry donations with DSCC funds to prop them up in their next couple elections?

It seems to me that ultimately we're going to have to do some old-fashioned bargaining here.

Is an idea like this out of line?

1. I don't think the DSCC has enough money. And it's a bad idea.
They should be replaced, if there's a Democratic soul in any state the blue dogs currently represent with a possibility of being elected as a progressive.

2. But we have to wait until November 2010 to _maybe_ replace them.

And that's a tall order at any rate. Not to mention that not all blue dogs would be up for re-election next year.
