BRAD BLOG TEAM COVERAGE: EAC'S BURIED, PARTISAN 'VOTER FRAUD' REPORT UNLEASHES FIRESTORM...
Day 3 and PFAW has still failed to either respond or correct it's website using my name to support their pro-Holt Election Refom legislation. Please contact them at [email protected] and demand they immediate cease and desist both that, and their misleading, dishonest information concerning the bill.

But in more notable breaking news today...as you might expect The BRAD BLOG is all over the latest revelations concerning the EAC's buried and now newly revealed report on "voter fraud" as the issue has touched off a firestorm. Links to two different full reports on it today at BRAD BLOG follow... -- Brad

U.S. ELECTION ASSISTANCE COMMISSION ALTERED FINAL REPORT ON 'VOTER FRAUD' FOR POLITICAL PURPOSES
NY Times Finds Original Bi-Partisan Draft Report, Buried by the EAC, Concluded Fears of 'Voter Fraud' Were Overblown

Altered, Politicized Report Follows Familiar White House Pattern, Brings Additional New Concerns About Continuing Status of EAC...

By Arlen Parsa and Brad Friedman

The New York Times reports today that a governmental report on the so-called dangers of "voter fraud" was manipulated to reflect the Bush Administration's claims rather than their own panel's findings.

The bi-partisan report had been buried for months by the supposedly bi-partisan U.S. Elections Assistance Commission (EAC), which has come under fire of late for partisanship and a failure to oversee the electronic voting systems and voting machine vendors they are supposed to be overseeing and testing for compliance with federal standards.

The latest chapter reveals that they have also failed at their mandate of issuing "clearinghouse" reports on important issues of Elections Administration, such as the controversial "voter fraud" charges made by Republicans in order to encourage the passage of disenfranchising Voter ID laws at the polls.

The entire thing is a boondoggle, and it's exploding all over the EAC which is set to be made permanent if Election Reform legislation currently fast-tracking through Congress is not amended immediately.

As you may imagine, The BRAD BLOG has a great deal of information to add to the Times good reporting today...

MORE on the EAC 'Voter Fraud' Report Boondoggle: NY Democrats Excoriate, Election Law Blogger Speaks Out, EAC Issues Statement Blaming Everyone But Themselves
The Mess We've Been Warning About for So Long, Concerning the EAC, Finally Makes it to Prime Time...

More on the EAC's "voter fraud" report boondoggle covered earlier today...
The New York Congressional delegation has sent us a statement (posted in full at the end of this article) in which Rep. Maurice Hinchey excoriates the behavior of the EAC in hiding, and then altering the report's findings for political reasons.

Rick Hasen of Election Law Blog adds: "I fear that we will be studying the EAC's failures for many years to understand how NOT to engage in meaningful election administration reform."

The EAC's statement on the mess, tellingly titled "EAC Statement Regarding Research & Contracting Policies" blames the contractors --- the Republican and Democrat who wrote the report, and who agreed that "voter fraud" is not the epidemic that GOP/EAC operatives wished it was --- instead of taking the blame themselves for the report that they buried and altered.

It's an utter debacle...

5. Litigation vs. legislation.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=626351&mesg_id=626351

At this point, we know FACTUALLY that these rat bastards have imbedded themselves throughout every part of our government. To believe that they haven't done the same re: Election Reform is foolish, imo. At least now we know where the litigate vs. legislate mantra is coming from.

8. Man, this is hard to keep track of.
What is the legislation that needs to be amended and is it still in Congress or has it gone to the Senate yet?
