List of Constitutional passages the birthers didn't mind seeing violated

If you ask a birther why he's trying to get rid of the duly elected president, they always say it's to protect the Constitution. Specifically, Article II, Section 1, fifth paragraph: "No person except a natural born Citizen shall be eligible to the Office of President." I know it's bullshit--the man was born in Hawaii, which was a state of the United States at the time. But that's what they claim.

Of course, it was perfectly allowable for Shrub, who they liked until he managed to eliminate the Republican majorities in both houses of Congress, to violate all of these parts of the Constitution:

Article I, Section 9: "The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended."

Article II, Section 1, paragraph 3: "The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not lie an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves." (It's perfectly acceptable under this line to run two Texans, which the GOP did in 2000. It's NOT perfectly acceptable for the electors from Texas to vote for them. Unfortunately, one of the two Texans went to Wyoming and rented someone's cowshed so he wouldn't officially be a Texan in November...)

Article II, Section 3: "(The president) shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the State of the Union..." (and it's not SUPPOSED to be full of lies.)

Article III, Section 2: The Trial of all Crimes, except in cases of Impeachment, shall be by Jury." (Jose Padilla...)

Article IV, Section 1: "Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records and judicial Proceedings of every other State." (Claiming states without Gay Marriage didn't have to recognize a gay marriage performed in another state.)

Article IV, Section 4: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion." (Let's see...on August 6, 2001, Bush was told al Qaeda was intent on attacking the nation. Bush did nothing to protect America against Invasion until he forced the Patriot Act through...and the operating mechanism of the Patriot Act was to eliminate the republican form of government.)

Article VI, paragraph 2: "This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land." (Disregard of multiple international treaties--Kyoto, anyone?)

Article VI, paragraph 3: "No religious test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

Amendment 1 ("First Amendment Zones" to keep Shrub from ever seeing protestors.)

Amendment 2 (the NOLA gun grab attempt in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.)

Amendment 4 (warrantless wiretapping)

Amendment 5 (Ballpark at Arlington eminent domain abuses--this happened before he was president, but that never stopped the freepers from going after the Clintons over Whitewater)

Amendment 6 (indefinite pretrial detention for terror suspects)

Amendment 10 (attempts to federalize the Louisiana National Guard in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, and punishing the state because the Democratic governor would not hand her troops over, knowing Bush would either deploy them to another state or ship them to Iraq)

Amendment 14, paragraph 3: "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military...who shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."
