12. Ha
I didn't grow up on the North OR South Side so I'm a 70/30 Cubs/Sox fan. Plus no one in my immediate family cares about baseball, so I didn't grow up wit a partisan sports environment.

My GF and her family are Fox fans though, and I get annoyed when they actively root against the Cubs. I'd love a Cubs/Sox World Series where the Cubs take it in 7...granted, the city would explode.

15. I'm a Californian - so my REAL loyalty is to the Giants
But Cubs are my second, only because I like it when everyone dies at the end of a movie

17. I plan on moving to CA within the next few years.
Don't worry about overpopulation as I'm not having any kids. I know, the state is bankrupt but who isn't? At least I can enjoy some great weather and sights before the country explodes.

;)

What better to toast the end of all things, than with a fine, West Coast IPA?

20. there is hope for you.
you know what my favorite thing about the sox is? when they won the series, one guy after another came up to the mic and said 'we are all pulling on the same rope here'- pinkos!

mark buehrle is only the 6th pitcher in baseball history to pitch both a no hitter and a perfect game.

and, i suspect, one of the few to have the president call him in the club house to congratulate him.

3. great accomplishment in 'sport'. wow. I once pitched a perfect game...
Edited on Thu Jul-23-09 03:34 PM by Divine Discontent
on a nintendo... LOL

It only takes about 10000 starts before a pitcher accomplishes this at some game in the MLB season.. ha

I remember listening to Tom Browning's perfect game for the Reds in '88, it was so amazing to listen to, can't imagine being there.

The pressure in the 8th and 9th innings is amazing, and Buerhle pulled it off with help.

years in MLB. What an incredible feeling that has to be. Incredible.

Buehrle had to get up and leave the news conference to take a call from....OBAMA!!! How cool.
