I am no fan of Sarah Palin, but I'm standing up for her on this one

McCain was too big of a coward to pick his own running-mate, and allowed his "advisers" to choose for him.

he's so ensconced in 1958, that he apparently thinks that women are interchangeable.. like Legos ..

The Dems had Hillary, so he needed a "gal" too, so why not get a "purty one".. a sexy one.

He wanted Joe Lieberman to run with him, or maybe his little wingman, Lindsay, but he was too weak to even choose his own running mate, and now that he admits what WE all knew from the get-go, he's got people out there trashing her. This is spite, and nothing more, but HE asked her, and only HE is to blame for the way things turned out for him.

All he's proving is that he would have made a TERRIBLE president. He's got no class.

Sarah's problem was that she didn't do what the SECOND dog is supposed to do, which is stick their nose up the ass of the lead dog. Instead, she wanted to pull the sled in a completely different direction.

She chose to get in harness; she should have "behaved." Message adjustment is what happens when you make that kind of agreement--Biden did it, GHWB did it, Gore did it. About the only one who didn't do it was Cheney--because he was the lead dog, and Porgie was riding on his back.

Of COURSE McCain picked a woman. He was anticipating a ticket that had Obama and Clinton on it. His problem is, he picked the WRONG woman.

They formed a group to help and raise funds for him. They were very pleased with themselves because they thought, surely, this loon couldn't possibly survive a general election. The crazy guy won his primary and went on to win the Governor's race. His name was Evan Mecham. Before he was impeached for being a crook he distinguished himself worldwide for refusing to sign the MLK holiday and causing the Super Bowl to pull out of AZ. The Republican base had no love for McCain but were energised by Palin.

McCain's campaign was dead in water until he selected Palin.

People at the rallies came to see Palin and not McCain.

It is no fault of Palin's that McCain was severely handicapped by being tied to the most unpopular President ever recorded.

It is no fault of Palin's that McCain looked and acted old, grumpy and past his prime.

It is no fault of Palin's that McCain couldn't hope to match the fund raising ability of the Obama campaign.

It's highly unlikely that any Republican could have defeated the Obama juggernaut.

While members of McCain's campaign staff may quibble about Palin and her performance, the blame for McCain's defeat lies with them, McCain himself and forces beyond anyone's control.
