STFU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You voted in that little beady eyed, pinheaded, tight-assed, bad hair, monkey morals jackass. Then you gave him another term.

The sad thing is that you were warned about him before you put him up for office. People told you he was an odd duck and a slice short of a full loaf. Well he's still yours. The Republicans in this state are an embarrassment.

I have been beyond embarrassment about this state for quite a while. I just move my rocking chair out of the way when the clowns run in front of me on the porch as they frequently do. I have a never ending supply of popcorn on hand.

And the heads of the Democratic Party better slink quietly around. You haven't been doing much of anything except protecting your pitiful patch of turf. If the best person that could win the Dem primary to run against Graham in 2008 was an ex Ron Paul supporter who changed parties, then you are trifling. He got 42% of the vote. If you had bothered to find a sane person maybe Graham wouldn't be on my teevee everyday.

I intend to enjoy every minute of this.

2. Man, his wife ripped him a new one in that interview. She wrapped the chain around his feet,
and pushed him into the lake.

3. She is a pro.
Apparently Sanford was the only person in the state who didn't know not to trifle with her.

She's learned the sugar coated strychnine lesson well from her southern friends and neighbors.

You do not want to cross any of them. You will simply not survive.

9. He was really stupid to try to blame HER in the presser by saying,
basically, "yeah I ran off to Argentina, but it was only after my wife asked me to leave and not contact her..." Good on Jenny for setting the record straight about how his obsession with going back to visit his mistress was the cause of the marital collapse, not the result.

4. Au contraire, mon ami..
I want to hear the little piggies squeal, their squeals are the most beautiful music imaginable to me.

I'm right next door in GA, our politicians aren't any damn better and our governor, Sonny Purdue, is another whackjob.

7. Does it look like the GOP will call for him to resign
or, better yet, impeach him? It can hardly be called a political vendetta when Republicans eat their own, as it were.

Will this debacle help the lieutenant governor gain power for a bid for the top office?

11. here's my take:
I want him IMPEACHED!

That way his cheap ass won't get a dime in pension money or whatever. His wife is taking care of the neutering.

He made a grave mistake by comparing himself to David.

1-It shows he still thinks of himself as some kind of "king." No humility there.

2-He obviously has no idea about the whole context of the story or David wouldn't be his first choice. I'd say Gollum, but he isn't in the Bible. He should be.

3-By invoking David, he has set every fundie's hair on fire. They take it quite seriously, and his misreading or whatever has them up in arms. The comments after stories on the web are not kind.

He should resign now, and make himself scarce. He won't because he is in his own world where everything must match his expectations. He will fight to make it so. In addition, there are enough other politicians who don't won't Andre "in the closet" Bauer to get the job because it gives him a headstart on the election for the position. So they might keep feeding Sanford enough of what he wants to hear to keep him in office.

That might not work. As all the other little details come trickling in, I can hear the clanking of pitchforks. They will be well sharpened. In addition, there is the "other woman" scenario. One woman has headed for the hills and another is speaking through a lawyer. Any more out there? He has guaranteed people will be looking.

If he dies, don't look at Jenny. She is watching this whole thing like a cobra. Nikki Haley would be my first bet. He was her strongest backer, and has effectively put a fork in her career for now. She isn't skilled enough yet to match Mrs. Sanford in the revenge department.

13. Thanks for the analysis
Don't know the fine points of SC politics. The mix should make this drag out a loooong time, which is good for us--IF the SC Dems can step up to the plate with a quality candidate for governor next time.

8. I Say LOUDER, LOUDER...
I love hearing all these hypocrites, once again, attempt to justify a scandal (one that has been defined on their own perverted terms) and make things worse. The more they attempt to support Sanford and the longer Sanford's ego (and denial) keeps him in the limelight the better. The more the obvious hypocrisy is displayed to the world...the more their words mean little and the bigger a parody of a party they become.

The old Chinese saying is that when your enemies are destroying themselves, stay out of the way. Let their ongoing circle jerk go on as the real Sanford is exposed, the more his "family values" prove to be a sham...the more its shown he abused public trust and funds to cover up an extra-marital affairs. The gynmastics these asshats are trying to do just is sucking them in deeper.

Remember, to this point all we have to go from is Sanford's word. Had he not been caught getting off the plane from Argentina, we'd still be hearing about his hiking trip. He's trying damage control and we've seen this script before. There are other shoes sure to drop in this sorrid scandal...thus let 'em drag it out. Here's hoping Sanford and his GOOP enablers in the Palmetto state drag this thing on for months to come...at best they get a zero sum game.

I'm in a state where we got rid of a corrupt governor...and most of us were pissed it took 3 months to do it. Now let's see how the fine folks in South Carolina react to the ongoing embarassment their lovesick gov is sure to continue creating.

the previous mistress(es) come out of the woodwork to destroy Sanford's BS story that he has strayed from the marriage only one time. Bring 'em on! :toast:

15. She could do it.
She'd scare the shit out of the good old boys in the legislature. She would shank them, and they would have to smile and be all polite and everything. Manners matter here.

She would have more sense than to take them head on like Sanford did. She'd find ways to cut weak ones away from the herd and build a coalition. Scares me!

18. Love this quote from her interview...
Jenny Sanford said she felt "shocked and obviously deeply hurt. I didn’t think he had it in him."

OUCH!

Or as Kelso from That 70's Show would say "That's a Second Degree BURN"

19. Told she was a pro!
I laughed out loud at the end of the interview clip. She was leaving to take a trip on the boat. She told the reporters that she wished that they could all come but that there wasn't room. She was so polite and sincere.

She polited them to death. It's an old Southern art.

22. Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit!
I do believe that little ole Northern Belle has outdone herself this time. That clip should be used to teach the Southern art of diplomacy, the ability to tell someone to go to hell and make them feel happy to take the trip! It's sure to be come a classic. Couldn't have been any better if she'd been dressed up like Scarlet O'Hara.

Ya'll come back now, ya hear, and we'll sit out on the veranda and sip some juleps.
