1. The drones are the latest "winning strategy" in a completely

un-winnable situation.

2. It's so hard for us to understand the terror and hatred that these things generate.

Drones stand right next to Abu Ghraib and Gitmo on the why we totally lost our face-in-this-conflict-list. It's like throwing the A-Bomb on Japan when the majority of experts and sane people clearly state that it is absolutely absurd and has no military value. We learned then by actually asking the Japanese that the A-bomb was futile and we learned right from the start in 2002 that drones are the most dreaded aspect of an otherwise not unwelcome intervention.... and yet we haven't stopped spreading terror with these things while the military worth of the whole campaign is still highly debated (something that should point out that they are not the obvious success story) ....

3. The surge is working, it is too big to fail. It has to be done immediately.

4. I love how they claim we're killing militants in the press release

and then have to retract it a week later and admit will killed only civs.

People still believe the first release more often than not, though, so we're killing militants in record numbers in their minds.
