If you decide to follow what's going on at Twitter, you can help by changing your time zone to +3:30 GMT Tehran, in your "settings". The idea is to confuse the censors in Iran who are trying to stop the flow of communication. If everyone has the same time zone, it will take them much longer to find people who are actually on the ground, reporting what's going on.
Also, the State Dept. has asked Twitter and other online services that are receiving reports from protestors to suspend any scheduled maintenance to keep the information flowing -- it's pretty amazing to see how these websites that were originally created as social networks are serving such an important function, gathering information in a crisis that has banned conventional news gathering organizations!
